My Journey from 195 -165LB

Hello forum friends!

Why 165lb you ask? There are two reason I want to go down to about 135lb so 165 is the halfway point....165lb is also the weight I went down to for my wedding almost 7 years ago, back then loosing 22lb had been so easy, I decided I wanted to loose 30lb for my August Wedding so I started Weigh Watchers the week of Halloween 2005 by Jan I was down 22.5 lb so 8lb away from my goal and I had 7 months to do it I was extatic then in February no pounds lost even when I upped my workouts (cause back then I had a Gym membership, and I actually used it) In the begining of march I found that I was expecting so we moved up the wedding to may and I was able to maintain my weight until the wedding. 2006 Was the year my life changed. I became a wife and later that same year a mom it was a good year one of the best, but I also lost myself, my husband had to find a better paying job, since we had a baby on the way he did but the hours where weird typical shift work. I had to let the gym membership go cause of my c section no point in paying 6 weeks I wouldn't be attending and then with day and night shift my husband was working having time to go to the gym was no longer existent so I went out walking alot with my baby girl when it was time for her nap I would bundle her up (late fall baby) and I would walk around the neighbourhood for an hour each day then I would bring her up on the porch and inside the house and I would use free weights to finish my work out, I was able to loose about 15lb o 15 the 30lb I gained while pregnante, then in the spring of 2008 I was expecting again this time I only gained 15lb ( I was craving fruits the whole time ;) ) I left the hospital wearing my pre baby jeans needing only to loose 5lb of the baby weight plus the 15 I still needed to loose from baby number one! I find that since I had babies my emotional eating is at an all time high, I get angry because of a tantrum I go to the freezer and I eat ice cream or drink some pop. I am not blaming the kids...that is my own bad habit to deal with, and since the hollidays I have been doing better. Stress has been at a all time high my work contract ended at the end of December I was prepared for that but tought that I would be back at work but the real probleme happended at the begining of February when my hubby's work place went up in flames, a 125 years in business and then all up in flames, last year we had a very good financial year money was still tight but that was because we where paying back debt paying back like over 5 thousand dollars in one year......trying to maintain our payement plan this year is hard but .we will succeed, and even with all this going on I have maintained my weight.


I want to go fromwhoops steped on the scale this morning and it is 197.5 :( 195 to 135 lb that is 60lb so I decided to cut my goal in two by the month of may I would love to be in the lower 170s and by July at 165lb, I will be following the P.I.N.K. Methode as a guideline to my weightloss they have really good meal ideas and workouts and a very rigid schedual wich I think I need. I am adding vitamine suplements and as the morning shake I will be using the Cinch shake from Shaklee cause that is a good tasting one and easily accessable for me! I aslo got an used threadmill for xmas and when my son is napping I do 20 min each day I now run 1.5 min at a 5 min interval started
with 30 seconds! I want to make sure I lose fat but not muscle so I still have my free weights and some elastics that I will be using 3 times a week . I will post my measurments tommorow on here. I plan to use this journal to keep track of my food but also instead of jumping into the bag of chips when I feel stressed out I will come on here and let it all out, so this might be a rant exesive diary but it's mine, so I can!!!

Ok so day two of being on here and I am trying to catch up to the diaries I used to follow....I am hoping I don't have to disconect my internet again so I can remain connected.

I need to up my water consumption when i carry around a bottle I drink more so today after my meeting with the employement agency I plan to go buy one cause the last one broke! Wonder if I should get one that has a filter included that way I always have filtered water no mater where I am and I won't have to buy over priced water anywhere!

Today I will be skipping my afternoon workout as I will be in a meeting but I will do it after the kids are in bed!

I gotta go get ready for my appointment will be back on here tommorow!
 
Hello forum friends

So yesterday the workout ended up being up and down the stairs with a basket full of laundry, kids bedroom doors where open while I was away from home and the dog ended up doing laying his territory on the beds, let me tell you the dog spent the whole evening in his cage, even after my hubby said to let him out, he says next dog will be a female and fixed I say the next dog will come from Toys R Us and it will be stuffed. I love dog, the big ones Labs, and Great Danes, English Mastif what he have is a Bichon Frise mixed with Lhasa Apso cute but not my cup of tea.......I did buy a water bottle already had one this morning so this works for me by a nice bottle carry it around I will drink from it....I went with a glass bottle water taste so much fresh and cool with the glass then plastic will see how long it will last. Today's plan it to clean the whole house because yesterday with my appointment I am way behind on house work, and I have an interview tomorow and just in case I am really lucky and they ask me to start this week I want my house work to be in order! Also I plan to try and make my own veggie burgers from scratch cause the kids requested burgers for diner they along with dad eat beef but I don't and I really want to stay away from pre made foods as much as possible, I don't have time to make my own bread but the things I can do I will.

Good morning

ok so yersterday didn't go as planned the menu was revised cause hubby took the whole container of soup with him to work :(
so I had a sandwich made of whole wheat toast and and eggs 1 ounce of cheese with some lettuce and ognion. and supper was a chicken salad cause I had bread for lunch so no veggie burger for diner :(. i did drink all 4 bottles of water :)

and there is my daughters dance class to I usually drink coffee but I will not tonight I will bring my water bottle instead of coffee!!!! Tim Hortons is gonna go out of business lol I used to buy to coffees a day now I always make my own!

Fitness wise I will do as many sit ups as I can today once I did my 20 on the thread mill!
 
Good morning forum friends!

ok so thursday is weight in day for me Last week once I had already started my journal I step on the scale and i was 197.5lb this morning I am 195.2 lb not a big loss but now at least the name of my diary makes total sence!!! I lost two pounds in a week I am gonna be happy with that the scale is going in the right direction for once I will take that and run with it ( not just saying actual running!!!)

THis weekend will be a real test of my new lifestyle 4 days with the whole familly at home, familly gatherings, where I have little choice of what I eat, i am brining veggie sticks to dip to all the gathering I am attending I will fill up on that ot the dip I am not a fan of dip! Unless i bring hummus!!!

This has been a very very long weekend!! 4 days with a full house wow......I am proud of myself this weekend!

no desert no chips and there where plenty of that on the table we had some guest

It a fun evening spent with my hubby 's co workers it was nice to catch up since they are not all working together at the moment since the factory fire!

Good morning!

Today is the fist official day of my P.I.N.K. Method! I am exited at the challenge it will be...I know a lot on people on here are against the use of programs like these but I need something a routine this programme has recepies all I like trying new stuff so that works for me....they seem and not to long....they have lots of veggie options, and there is also workouts since I don't have access to gym or nutritionist here it seemed like the best option for me.

Diner will be a challenge I am not much of a fish persone don't even like fish stick but that could be the breading but I will try it tonight! If I get hungry I can snack on raw veggies but since I am congested and not feeling too well I don't think much snacking will happen....I will stay off my threadmill for a few days and walk outside when I get the change it is still cold but I think fresh air will be much better for me. I am very happy today my mom stoped by last night and she gave me a very expensive air exchanger or filter that will come in handy startin later this month my daughter has really bad seasonal allergies that start at the end of April ans last until the first frost so a lot of sleepless nights when she is having a hard time breathing! this should help lots!! I am aiming to drink at least 4 bottle of water!
 
Ok taking a few min to post this!!! Making the healthy changes for my self is hard....making it when kids are envolve so so hard! Today I am so proud of my babies!!!! When I was making my daughters lunch she ask if I could add some celery sticks and laughing cow cheese instead of the craker and fake process yellow thing they call cheese I was so proud she is actually listening to me when I talk :) My son also surprised me for weeks now when I make him a sandwich for lunch I always add some veggies like carrots and celery or cucumber of brocolie or raw peppers just so we get some veggies into him and usually it take a 20 min argument for him to eat them....today he jump on that red pepper and cucumbers and ate them first also for lunch wednesday he can have pudding but he chose watermelon instead!!!! So happy that they are joining me on eating healthy.....They even are joining me in drinking more water....there had been no pop or juice in my home for the last 2 weeks they are drinking milk at meal times and water in between!!! I had to share the news!

I actually went for coffee with 1/2 a tsp of Vanilla Coffee Whitener (Spelling???) That did the trick, I hate these cravings, I know I am not hungry but I want surgar....it was so hard today cause Wednesdays I eat at my inlaws cause my daughter has dance classes near their house, make getting to classe on time so easy, but maintaining my diet so hard, I love my mother in law (not sarcastic I really do) she is a great women and she is always ready to help or listen when I need to talk but a cook she isn't, Everything tast blah....she doesnt' like spices or garlic, she overcooks chicken and pasta, tonight she made burgers with fries for the kids and I had told her I will bring what I eat cause I am following this programe but she went out and got me veggie burger wich she cooked before I got there so I ate that instead of my salmon, instead of eating the white buns I used lettuce to wrap my veggie patties and I used salsa to dressup the burger so it still won't affect my results too much but then she took out some mini muffins and glazed donuts for desert, I just made myself some coffee to be able to stay away from desert. I get home and notice the left over donuts and muffins in my daughter back pack she sent those with me cause the kids like it ( I don't want them eating that crap everyday) but also my father inlaw needs to loose at least 50lb ASAP and he has no self control at all if the junk is in the house he will go get it! Even drive to the store at 11 for the bag of chips he is craving....I get that she wants to help him and please the kids but what about my struggles? those things will be calling my name all evening and all day tommorow,,,,,,,it make me angry and she did hide them to get them to my house she knew I would say no! I needed to vent I will talt to her next time I am alone with her when my hubby and kids aren't around....I don't mind them having a treat when they visit grandma but i don't want them to have it more then one night, surgar is a drug as much as caffein and coccain and crack but in a way it is worst cause it is hidden in so many foods under many names so if I can spare my children some sugar I will! Vent over I am off for a walk in the freezing cold hoping my congestion will go down then I will have some hot water with lemon honey and cinnamon to help with the sore throat and congestion then it is off to bed! Justina I will have to try the apple with nutbutter .....I need a break from BP is there a kind you would recommend?
 
It can be frustrating. And I think it's just part of being a grandma, to be honest. My mom tried really hard to instill healthy eating habits in me and my brother, which stuck. But it was also hampered by my grandma constantly pushing sweets and other junk food at us. Sometimes I think I wouldn't have half the problems with my weight I do today if she hadn't done that when I was little, but that's how she knew to show love.

I woke up late this morning and didn't weight in straight out of bed,...I did get on the scale but I had already drank the breakfast shake and one coffee so I weighted in at 196 I will weight again tom I hope it will go down at least back to 195.2 staying the same I can live with....gaining not so much, not that I will have a choice,,,either way next week should be better.

I took out my resistance bands and I will do some moves with them I am staying clean of Cardio until my chest congestion is on it's way out but I still want to keep moving I want to lose fat not muscle mass ..never tought I would say this but I am missing my threadmill!!! Threadmill is keeping me sane!!! I am off to do some house cleaning and clothes folding!!! Good day to you all
 
Wow jut had to come on here i had little hope for that soup...boy was I wrong....I am loving it! Will make this often I don't even need broth for it so it is 100% homemade! I felt a little hungry just after lunch but decided to gulp down some water and that did the trick, my body wanted water not food!!! back to house cleaning!
 
Hey, glad you got your craving under contol by coffee! I actually have a coffee alternative that has vanilla flavor & I love it. (teeccino) I use almond/peanut butter (personally i buy raw with only ingredient is almond/peanut - but it's really a personal choice - and it takes some getting used to)
The other thing I love now is a coconut-cacao spread with banana - heavenly!! Again I buy it raw. I try to eat as little processed food as possible.
btw your mother in law sounds lovely!! :) Well done for staying away form the dessert! Kudos to you!

I made sure the husband brought the donuts and mini muffin to work with him this morning cause I am not sure I could have lasted all day with those in the house!!! I like the idea of buying the nut butter raw....the less added unpronoucable ingredients the better, I have to drive about an hour maybe a bit more to find a health food store, next week I have to take the kids for an eye exam so I will be near one at the point, I will look for them....but the program I am on is very strict for the first 14 days only snacking aloud is raw veggies plaine,,,,,I guess it will help me with the sugar addiction!

I made some change to diner.....Kept it all same but instead of a vegetable medley and a salad and dressing I added 1 ounce of feta to my vegetable meddley if you ever need a quick healthy side dish this is one to remember, red peppers, red oignion, spinach, mushroom, and zuccini tossed on low heat with some garlic and a bit of olive oil for only 10 min max once it is done you can sprinkle a little feta on top...yum!!! I had about 2 cups of the mixture loved it, if you had pine or walnuts to it and a bit more olive oil it would be great over pasta....I do this and today I used white mushrooms cause that is all I had available locally but with crimini or portobello it is so much better!!! I survived Day two of the PINK diet :) Whoo hoo!!
