My food diary by Lottie

I'm starting this so that I have more motivation to succeed! I've become rather more solid that I like and it's not good.
I've got a lot of other stuff going on too and having weight and body issues isn't helping.

So - I will start tomorrow by stating what my weight is (always weigh myself in the morning!) and will come here to keep a track of my progress each day.

I still live with my mum and younger sister so it's not like I don't get healthy food (mum's always fed us healthy stuff) but I snack a lot and lunch is always much more than it should be (I make that myself!).

Going to look through some of your advice now!!

I suggest only weighing yourself once a week, at the same time and day too.

If you weigh yourself too much, you may become obsessive with it and also freak out if you find you've gained four lbs in a few days which is likely and normal.

Welcome and good luck! :)

Thanks miracle - when I've tried to lose weight in the past I've been told to only weigh myself once a week, so that I shall do... ta :)

Thanks aleeluh :)

Well I weighed myself this morning - 12.5 stones which is... 175lb I believe... My target weight is 10 stones which is... 140lb.

So I'm going to see how this first week goes and then set my rate of weight loss by that, rather than setting a target and missing it!

Just to add: I feel like I've done pretty well today - I've not strayed off the diet (one day, I know - but it's good!) and have just put a potato in the oven to have baked potato and beans :D

Congrats for eating well today! Keep it up. Every day counts chick :D

Hi Lottie? Welcome to the forum and good luck!

How tall are you?

Weighing yourself every day needn't be considered obsessive. It depends on the person. I weigh myself every day. It's when I skip a few days that I get off track. Each morning I look at the results and use it to plan for the day. Scale is up? Need to drink water, eat better, squeeze in some exercise. Scale is down? Pats self on back and stays the course. Other's prefer not to see the ups and downs of daily weigh ins and stick to a once a week weigh in. To each her own.

Hi Patty,

That may be better for me as I'm not very good at waiting a week to see the results so I go off track!

I don't know exactly how tall I am but believe I am around 5'5"...

I always used to be 10 stones more or less but then when I started exercising less (my disability got worse), I started eating more (comfort eating) and my weight just went up, up, up!

I don't really mind too much about the weight, I'd just like to fit back into my clothes and look how I used to!!

Okay well, I did weigh myself again this morning in the hope that I would keep on track and I was the same as yesterday (which is pretty much to be expected I assume).

The good news is - I haven't gone up! :D

Yay! That's good news. Just keep it up :]

Weighed myself this morning! Lost 2 pounds! That makes me 173lbs...

I'll try not to get too excited because I know it can fluctuate from day to day but at least I know it's working!

Am a bit disapointed with today...

I haven't done as well, but I will miss weighing myself tomorrow morning and get back on track from here on in!

Everyone has slip ups :] Just don't let it get you down- and do better the rest of the day.

Thanks aleeluh

The rest of the day was ok and what I did have wasn't too bad, just not really good!

I've bought myself some weight watchers mousses for those weak moments!
