Hi Everyone,

In 2002, I lost 79 pounds on Weight Watchers in 7 months. It is a program I believe in and worked well for me. I gained 10 back while quitting smoking but I was excersizing and it was a healthy 10 pounds. I became pregnant in 2004 and gained 60 pounds. It was 30 pounds less than the first child and I lost 30 in the first 2 weeks so I wasn't too upset. Then I lost 25 more of it over time to where I was 5 pounds away from pre-pregnancy in June of 2007. Then all heck broke lose :(

In July of 2007, I turned 40 and started working at a very stressful job as an accountant. I started gaining weight like crazy and in 4 months had put on 25 pounds!! I fought it and it kept creeping on. Just last year I joined a gym and went faithfully 4-5 days a week and following the WW plan. No luck. I had my hormones tested and they found plenty of problems and now I'm on a regimen of bio-identical hormones and supplements. I have to admit, I'm not always good because my willpower has wained after trying so hard and nothing coming off. My doctor says it takes a year and half or two to balance out everything and not to worry myself so much but it's in my nature since I was little to worry about my weight. ALL MY LIFE! Ya know?

I finally weighed today after avoiding the scales since last spring. I am .6 away from my starting weight at Weight Watchers in 2002 and I'm devastated. I met my husband in 2002. He thought he married a thin and happy girl and now I'm a hefty sad girl. I don't wallow in self pity very long so I've done my crying today and I've got to figure out another plan.

This website was one of my first things to do. I went to join Weight Watchers online again but I quit that stressful job last summer and have only been working part time so the fees are too high for me.

Thanks for reading my long and drawn out story...IF you made it this far! LOL!

Just hop back on the saddle and you will be on your way losing again and feeling good about yourself. You came to the right place for support!

Hi Jen, good to meet you.
My favorite thing about using Weight Watchers (I've lost almost 75 pounds in 5 months on it) is that you don't have to be part of the actual program to follow their plan.

Head on in and pick up updated Points books for everyday eating and for dining out; pick up a new points slider, all that fun stuff!
I can't afford official weigh-ins anymore, but its working wonderfully on its own, because once you have the tools, you can just run with it.

The absolute best of luck to you!

Wow 75 pound lost in 5 months on Weight Watchers! Thats great! Did you count points or did you do the core plan?

Thanks, Anna :)
I did (and am continuing to do) points-counting. I never really gave a second glance to the core plan; I can't imagine cutting any type of food out of my diet. I love food; I feel its meant to be enjoyed. In all honesty, while I'm eating significantly better than I was, I think my weight loss really boils down to eating LESS.

... And to be fair, when I started on Weight Watchers, there was a LOT of me to lose. 269 pounds of me, to be exact.

I use the point counting too, but I do this on my own. I am not a member of WW's. I should go back for a new point finder and a new book. I used the core plan once, you get a lot of food on it too. Yes some times you have to just cut back a little on portion sizes to lose the pounds. To me a person with more weight to lose, can lose much faster then a person that has a little to lose.

You are doing Great, keep going!!
