My face/body shots: Before and In Between

carpedebass: Thank you.

Jewell222001: Thank you. I'm thinking 130-135 might be good. Weight isn't really my goal anymore. I'm concerned with the way I will look and feel and dress or clothing size. I'm not very tall, just 5'4".

joyescotland: Thank you. I look forward
to seeing your updates when you get down to 150. :)

I guess I'll post more pictures when I get down to 150 too, or when I get down to a size 6. I posted these because I said in my original post that I'd post more pictures when I got down to a size 10, and I'm here.

 Wow, Tamara! Great job so far! WOW - size 10 jeans!!!! YOu must be pretty pleased - and so you should be!

I am happy to say that I have FINALLY busted thru my own 6 wk plateau, with a loss on the WW scales today. I am convinced it is because I have incorporated some running into my workout!

All for now, you are really looking great!

Janice

MegaMan6000: Thanks. :)

maverick: Same size. I dunno. I think I saw some pictures of you in your undies a while back and I think you are smaller than I am. Or maybe that was someone else. Or maybe I have a really warped sense of how I look because I'm so used to seeing myself amost 50 pounds heavier.

CaseyAtMartin: Thank you. And yes, Siegfried is a bit of a camera whore. And hello fellow veg!

Mammagirl: Thank you very much for the kind words.

Kiki_6969: Thank you, though I think you're the one who's smokin'. :)

CindyB: Thank you. I'm glad I'm of some use somehow. Ha. And yes, I am proud of myself. Strange as it is, I'm more proud of myself for being able to run over seven miles cross-country without stopping than I am for the weight loss. But I am proud of losing weight and proud of working hard.

Janice: Thank you! Yay for busting through stupid plateau! Yay!!! Yes, I am pleased with the size 10s, but I don't feel like a size 10 or I don't feel like I look how a size 10 looks. Stupid warped psyche. Anyway, thank you for coming 'round to check out my updates. I can't wait to see yours when you get to 150!

You look amazing - congrats on the hard work...I am rooting for you to reach your goal!! :hurray:

WOW you sound just like me in December I started at 220 (now 188) and am 5'4 I am hoping to get to a 10 I have not started shopping for clothes yet but I was in a 18 and now have had to start putting extra holes in my belts just to even attempt to keep them on Keep it up you look great a true inspiration

Nunu: Thank you!

Tony: Yeah, yeah. Also, I do really have monkey arms. My armspan is several inches more than my height. OMG!

al.smedley: Thanks! I've been slacking for a little while, but man do I feel motivated now, especially since I want to start marathon training in June. I need to be at goal or very close when I start training. :)

cnmh071977: And I think we're the same age too. Advice: If you can afford it, get a pair of jeans every time you drop a size. It's really nice to have clothes that fit and it helps me stay motivated to lose more weight.

[Focus]: 'Sup.

Chestnut: Thank you! Not done yet, but will be in a few months. Or I'll be close to or at goal in a few months. :)

Tammy- Yeah, running has really helped me lose weight and gain confidence. I love the speed/distance progress I make each time I run. Thanks!

Jung Mi- Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad you can see changes in the same areas I can see them. I will not make self-deprecating remarks, but I can't believe how big my arms were. My ankles/calves have slimmed down too, it's just not so obvious because my before pictures don't really show that part of my body.

SkinnyQ-Thank you! I've done it by moving more and eating less. Also, please read the rest of this post, as I will give my trainer (Leigh Peele,as in one of WLF's very own Super Moderator) a plug. Also, I'm committed and I'm consistent.

Steve- Thank you, Steve! I can't wait until I'm down to a size 10. I'll post more pictures when I get there. I am currently in loose 14s.

SweatPea-Thank you!!!!

Okay, now for Leigh's plug. I was doing okay on my own for about six or seven weeks, and then I started to burn out because I was spending way, way too much time at the gym or running or swimming. I ended up asking for some advice on the board, and Leigh responded with free advice. We then started emailing, which is when she offered to take me on as a case client. I put that off for about two weeks for financial reasons, and continued to do my own thing. Anyway, I started with Leigh about the 1st of October. She had me send a lot of information to her, info. about my eating habits and weight loss/gain history. And she had me send her my stats and some pictures of me. Using that, she designed a 4 week caloric intake program and an exercise regimen specifically for me. She designed the exercise regimen to combat some of my weaker, problem areas. And she incorporated running/interval training into the program because she knew I wanted to continue to run. After 4 or 6 weeks, she'll change things up. My caloric intake is matched up with my daily activity level. What I'm doing requires A LOT of planning on my part. I do not consume a thing that isn't on my daily meal plan. I weigh all of my food instead of using measuring cups. My daily caloric intake is only ever off by seven calories at the most. I am also managing my macro nutrients (carbs, fats, proteins) per Leigh's recommendation. And I pay special attention to when I'm consuming larger amounts of food (post-workout, specifically). All of this sounds really complicated, but it's not. It's fun and challenging. And I spend 45 minutes or less at the gym four days a week and about 60-80 minutes working out one day a week. I always have two days off.

*** If you are counting calories religiously, my one piece of advice is to toss the measuring cups and get yourself a scale. I think I was consuming anywhere from 100-300 more calories a day than I thought because measuring cups are so off.
WoW.....Tamara! You LOOK AMAZING...LOOK at YOUR PROGRESS...it's JAW DROPPING.....HAVE YOU POSTED ANY NEW PICS SINCE THEN, 2007...I'd LOVE TO SEE...It's INCREDIBLE HOW MUCH YOU HAVE CHANGED in such a SHORT TIME! GREAT JOB!

Aw man, I'd been away for several weeks and didn't realize anyone else had posted to this. I'd have just updated my current pictures on this thread.

Alta818: Thank you! And I did just update some pictures (underwear pictures!!!). It's been slow going for a while, but I will take what I can get. I think I'm finally starting to think I look like a different person. I still have a ways to go though. Man, I can't wait until my butt shrinks some more.

ktjean430: Thank you very much. I can't get over how good you look. I'm always amazed when I see pictures of people who used to be fairly overweight and now look like they were never overweight, especially when they haven't had any surgery. I mean, you're tiny and you don't seem to have any skin or flab issues. And if I didn't know I would never have guessed that you were once as overweight as you were. Anyway, as I've said before in one of your threads, you look great.

-Tamara
