OK. So I got up to 326 pounds and decided to lose the weight. I am an all or nothing type of person. In the last month I started eating a little better and taking care of myself and am down to 308 pounds. With Lent under way, I’ve decided to create a weight loss plan. This will be “phase 1†of 3 phases. Phase 1 will just be extreme measures to lose weight by mainly increasing my restrictions of my intake of food and beverage. This will last until Easter. I also used to smoke 2 packs a day, and am now down to roughly half a pack a day. Phase 1 will be where I quit smoking all together. Phase 2 will then start, where I will re-asses my diet and will add cardio to the mix until I am down to 185 pounds. At that point, phase 3 will begin where I begin weight-lifting and another diet change to accommodate. Your support will help me in my quest. With that, Today begins Phase 1! Here is the plan.

Phase 1

Week 1(Tues-Sat)

-6 cigs a day

-eat -eat only one meal at supper time. Snacks to include only fruits and vegetables in small amounts a couple times during the day. Meal will consist of only “clean†meat (no skins, fat, prepared healthy, etc, and vegetables and fruits. Drink water, vitamin water, diet green tea during day, skim milk with meal. Can have cranberry and vodka if going out.

Week 2

-5 cigs a day

-eat -eat only one meal at supper time. Snacks to include only fruits and vegetables in small amounts a couple times during the day. Meal will consist of only “clean†meat (no skins, fat, prepared healthy, etc, and vegetables and fruits. Drink water, vitamin water, diet green tea during day, skim milk with meal.

Week 3

-4 cigs a day

-eat -eat only one meal at supper time. Snacks to include only fruits and vegetables in small amounts a couple times during the day. Meal will consist of only “clean†meat (no skins, fat, prepared healthy, etc, and vegetables and fruits. Drink Strictly water, except for skim milk with meal.

Week 4

-3 cigs a day

-eat -eat only one meal at supper time. Snacks to include only fruits and vegetables in small amounts a couple times during the day. Meal will consist of only “clean†meat (no skins, fat, prepared healthy, etc, and vegetables and fruits. Drink Strictly water.

Week 5

-2 cigs a day

-eat only one meal at supper time, no snacks. Meal will consist of only “clean†meat (no skins, fat, prepared healthy, etc, and vegetables and fruits. Drink strictly water.

Week 6

-1 cig a day

-eat only one meal at supper time, no snacks. Meal will consist of only vegetables and fruits. Drink strictly water

Week 7

-no cigs. Smoke free!

Complete fasting, no food intake. Drink strictly water

This will cleanse my system and really burn off extra weight.

Phase 2 and 3 to come after Phase one is complete. Please track my progress and show your support. Feel free to ask any questions along the way!

This is Real. Any support is appreciated. I've done similar types weight loss in the past, with success, had an injury and sort of let things slide, eventually getting out of control. This is Day one, I am 308 pounds. I am going to do this.

This is a terrible idea. You need at least 1500 calories a day. And that's the minimum! Please do your research and reconsider. This way will cause muscle wastage, health problems and is not a sustainable way of losing and keeping off weight. You're not going to find much support around here for a diet like that :(

The idea is pretty much a preperation for fasting. I assure you a ton of research has been done. For someone who weighs 100 pounds less or more, yes muscle loss would be a concern. But if the body is not getting required energy (calories) through intake it start burning off stored energy (weight). Naturally the body starts with fat until there is not much fat less, then switches to protein (muscle). So until I get to a much healthier weight, I will be burning through fat.. Eventually a different diet will be required, but for the first 100 pounds or so, from my research, a water-fast will work well. This first phase is more of a preperation to get to that point, cleanse out my toxins, and prepare for it. I agree there are some risks involved, but I strongly believe there are more risks involved in being over 300 pounds.

Everybody is different and someone thats 200 pounds trying to lose 30 pounds is in a much different situation than someone who is 300 pounds trying to lose 100 pounds. Metabolism and how a body reacts to different inputs can also vary from person to person. I tried everything growing up to lose weight with no success. When I was 23 I did something similar to this, and I was down to 180. I then started lifting and got to a healthy 235 (pretty ripped). I then had an injury and slowly got off the wagon for a few years and the weight came back fast.. I know this works for me and has worked for me in the past. Thanks for the comments.

Plenty of others around here that have clocked in near or above your starting weight who have taken a more balanced approach.

All the best and hope you consult with a doctor before, during and after this course of action.

I'll be opting out of tracking your extreme goals by testing out the block member function on the forum.

To each there own I guess. Good luck in your quests! I've done this before with great success.. Things have gotten out of hand, so I'm doing it again. I have done my research, as well as the actual diet. I encourage you to research Water-fasting as well. It is a great, healthy way to not only lose weight, but also has other great benefits. I agree, it is not for everyone, but I don't feel it's a reason to block somone and say negative things about it. To each there own, regardless- I wish you the best in your own personal goals!

If I said I was just immediatly going to stop eating, I would agree it would be rediculous. Instead I've researched intensly and have experience, so I am preparing my body for it. :)

So week one only had a couple slip ups, but did very well as far as I'm concerned. Days at work are easy, days home are difficult, as it is too tempting to raid the fridge... but am doing good. Also need to work on the smoking.. especially difficult to break the habit of smoking while driving, as that seems to be the most difficult to stomp out.. Weight as of Sunday- 302 pounds!

I quit smoking five years ago with Chantix. I highly recommend it to anyone if you really want to stop smoking. It really is the best thing you can do for yourself. Aside from that, you should watch "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead". It's available on Netflix and inspired me to do the juice fast I am on now. You have to give your body something, it may as well be the best stuff on earth

That's amazing, thanks for the video suggestion. In a very similar situation as this guy. I have done this in the past with success, and this time it will be for good. Good to see others that have been in similar situations sharing their success as well. It sure feels good to have your once tight clothes fitting loosely! Looking forward to getting started with the fast, and I feel I am preparing for it the best I can. This "phase one" will last until Easter, at which point I will begin the fast. Having not done a complete fast before( but just about), I do not want to set my goal at 60 days. I'm planning on setting it at 21 days, (3 weeks) with the mindset of reaching for 30-60. I want to monitor how I am doing and don't want to kill myself in the process. Even with the diet I am on now, the weight is coming off, and I am just feeling healthier all around. No gas, no heartburn, more energy, just feel better, and am looking forward to what I can achieve.

I LOVE when my clothes fit loosely! It's been a while, lol

I've known some people who've done a fast for maybe four days tops and they always carried around some drink made of water, honey and lemon.

This is an excerpt from an article I read:

"Water-only fasts that last for more than several days need to be undertaken with complete rest and under medical supervision because of the extreme danger of over-toxification, breakdown of vital body tissues, and loss of electrolytes.

I personally recommend and practice water and juice fasting, especially if you are going to fast for an extended period of time. This type of fast will provide you with more energy than absolute or water-only fasts and still lead you into the humbling experience of denying your desire for solid food that you can chew."

And of course they mentioned some restrictions:

"In spite of the absolute safety and benefits of fasting, there are certain persons who should NEVER fast without professional supervision. For example:

Persons who are physically too thin or emaciated.

Persons who are prone to anorexia, bulimia, or other behavioral disorders.

Those who suffer weakness or anemia.

Persons who have tumors, bleeding ulcers, cancer, blood diseases, or who have heart disease.

Those who suffer chronic problems with kidneys, liver, lungs, heart, or other important organs.

Individuals who take insulin for diabetes, or suffer any other blood sugar problem such as hyperglycemia.

Women who are pregnant or nursing."

I hope you are doing this fast safely and I wish you luck.

I am not yet to the actual fast portion, Still on Phase1, where I am preparing my body for it. Am considering a juice fast, but would be entirely self made, with veggies and such, nothing from the store or with any preservatives or sugar added.. Regardless of whether or not I do a water-fast, I someday want to, and why not now, while my body can certainly use it and I have the motivation to go for it? Have a few weeks to decide, either way I choose, I believe my preperation is adequate. Thanks for the info/reply. Any other comments/info are welcome.

Down to 289 pounds! Diet is going better than expected! I feel great! I have more energy than I've had in a long time. Have actually started to recieve some compliments from people that did not know I was on a diet! Clothes fit looser, need to wear a belt for everything, should probably get new clothes, but know that I will only need to replace them later on when I lose more, so will wait that out a bit. Feels great to have people notice the weight loss! Do need to work on the smoking thing. I am definatly smoking less, but certainly not down to the plan. One thing I did not expect is that I am actually craving my salads! breads and pastas no longer even look appetizing to me, nor does soda. Only explanation is that my body knows that I can't have them and will only crave the things that it can have. Not using any salad dressing, I'm finding that I enjoy the tastes of vegetables even more. A healthy variety, I've found is a must. Need to change it up periodically. Tomotoes, carrots, and onions one day, mushrooms, beans, and pees the next. Occasionally am putting on a sprinkle of shredded cheese or a dash of roasted sunflower seeds, but try to limit that. Any suggestions are appreciated (although please limit the "that's not healthy, we don't support your goals"). Support and examples of success stories with similar diets are also appreciated. Can't wait until I feel comfortable in a swimsuit again!
