My current workout/diet.. need help

This year I started working out and have been using the adidas micoach application to have some kind of guide. I selected a program level 6 out of possible 7 (7 being the strongest one). The micoach is for cardio training, it guides me through my bike workout. In my case, the workout consists of 4 or 5 workouts per week and the time varies from 35 to a little over an hour per workout. I always set the bike at a level 10 resistance (i think level 20 is the limit) and maintain anywhere from 80 rpm to 105+ rpm depending on what the micoach says I should be hitting.

The bike I use is the Life Fitness 95Ci

I also have access to a treadmill and a pool but that is about it, no weights and no other machines.

Before each workout a do around 80 standard push-ups and when I get off the bike I try to do enough to reach 100 in total (that is if i'm not too beat from the bike ride). By the end of each workout I feel great and I sweat to the point that my shirt is always soaking which is a good thing, right? Does this seem like correct right workout?

There is one big problem for me though, I buy ALL my meals from different restaurants and fast food establishments so I feel that no matter how hard I am working out it is all going down the drain.

A little more information that might help you help me :)

I am a 28 year old guy. I'm not fat but not lean, therefore im trying to loose a few pounds that I have around the stomach area (especially the sides). I am 5'8" and weigh 167 lbs.

What do you think of my current workout plan? What could I be doing different or better? Bare in mind I can already take a good cardio workout with no problem.

Thanks for any help you can give me!

See this: . You're off to a good start this year. Keep it up and you'll see results. I suggest you use the heart rate monitor function and keep your heart rate at 70 - 80% of your max. You can estimate your max at 220 - 28 (your age) = 192. Although this can be off by up to 20 beats on some individuals, it is a good starting point.

Ignore the calorie meter. That is inherently inaccurate. Also, try to incorporate weight training as much as you can. Weight training in conjunction with cardio is a great way to lose weight.

Thanks for the tip on what/where to eat, it will definitely come in handy!

I do try to keep my heart rate at 80-85% tops, i use a polar heart rate monitor which helps tons and really makes it easy.

Im curious, why would you say ignore the calorie meter? Not that I ever pay attention to it (i honestly dont know what is a good /bad amount of calories per workout).

I do have one more question though, are there any benefits to drinking lemon water during and after the workout? The cardio room I go to always has water pitchers, lemon juice and plastic cups; therefore im guessing water + lemon juice go in the cups? Whats up with that?

Thanks again!
