My core is sore

After doing some reading on this site, I decided to change up my core workout. A thank you goes out to Karky for mentioning renegade rows, which in all honesty I had never heard of before. So this morning my routine went like this:

Renegade Rows w/ 30 lb DBs(wimpy, yes, but it was my first time ever) 25 reps per side, alternating.

Slide DBs aside and immediately drop into a 2 minute plank.

50 crunches
50 bicycle crunches

I did three sets of above, except my plank dropped to 90 seconds on the second set and 75 seconds on the third set. :bncry:

Also on my last set I traded off the bicycles and did Russian twists.

The renegade rows were a blast, especially since I was using my sons DBs which are not hexagonal, but steel plates that worked amazingly like wheels, so I got some added work on my stabilizer muscles simply trying to keep them from rolling apart, leaving me flat on my face.

Shorter workout than I'd like, but I was pressed for time.

Just thought I'd share. :)

i googled renegade rows...now knowing what they are I've seen them done plenty in the gym.

One of the trainers runs a circuit of burpees, jump squats, 180s, push-ups with a pop-up, renegade rows, some exercise where they slam down a medicine ball and catch it on the way back up and one other twisty type push-up thing. Looks tough...those renegade rows are interesting me.

I have been doing Renegade Rows for nearly two years now. They can bring the spirit of good-death to the door, and absolutely love and adore them because of it.

And, they are often included in pairing with other exercises from time to time, dependent on "point" of training, etc.

I will pair them with shoulder work (because they work the rear delts), I will sometimes pair them with back work (because they work the back), I will pair them with Chest work (because they work the chest when Chest presses are performed), I will pair them with other core work (because they activate the core), I will include them in resistant-training orientated intervals (because of the variety of muscles being worked at one time, and the purpose is to burn extra calories (etc), or deplete glucose stores because of the intense amount of energy expended).

They are in deed a killer exercise. I think I will keep it by my side as my liiiitle. frrriend. :)

Best regards,

Chillen
