My Challenge, new member ;-)

Hi all

I've been hovering around the same weight for nearly 6 years now, having been at my ideal weight about a year before that. I should "apparently" be around the 170lb mark, but I've been hovering around 196-200 lbs for years.

I play lots and lots of sport, and am generally in very good fitness (RHR is 53, blood pressure 110/70), but I just carry this weight around the middle which I haven't shifted (And which I'm sure will start to affect my knees!). So, my goal is to achieve a weight of 171-175lbs and stay at that for life. I'm 32, 5ft10 and underneath it all I guess I'm fairly muscular because of the sport and gym I've done over the past 20 years, so I can handle intense exercise from time to time.

I tend to do well for about a week, shift 4 pounds or so, then I slip back into old habits so I'm hoping I can gather some motivation from this forum to keep going until I reach my goal. I would like to shift about 14-16 pounds in 8 weeks, through some hard graft, and then eventually shift the remainder afterwards. But, we'll see what happens. I was intending to keep posting my results on a weekly basis on this thread, but if anyone can suggest a better way to utilise the forums for this I'm happy to oblige.

On holiday at moment, but I reckon I am at 202lbs, once I'm back I'll take note of actual weight and then post an update 1 week later (Though I will still make postings in-between).
