My body fat percentage not right- bodystat1500 vs caliper

Hi,

I'm confused about my body fat readings. On 28/03/2011 I had my body measurements taken at the gym and my bodyfat % using a 'BodyStat 1500' machine. My readings came in at 21.9% body fat.
Now on 11/04/2011 I decided to check myself using calipers, measuring my abs, suprailiac, chest, thigh, and triceps. This came back with 14.8%.

This is a huge difference and I am confused which to go with. I was a little shocked at 22% body fat and thought I would probably be about 16-18%.

I weigh 82.5KG, and am 179cm tall.

When I have just done a workout I can actually see my abs a little. I thought if I was 22% you wouldn't have a chance of even seeing any ab muscle through your fat.

What do you think?

I'd trust calipers way more than any machine or BF scale. But for accurate readings you need someone to measure you. It is never as accurate using calipers on yourself.
