Hi all!!

Welcome to my very first Weight Loss Diary. I don't know why I never thought of this before- I have a Practice Diary for my music and I have an assignment diary for Uni so no idea why it didn't hit me before!

I've alreasy started my diet/exercise regime and am about a week into it, but I'm going to answer all the questions in the Sticky Thread just to get my Diary started, so bear with me.

-- How much weight do you want to lose? I want to lose twenty kgs. (I'm an aussie so I use the Metric System- bear with that too :blush5: )

-- What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight? Well I want to drop 1 dress size by the end of 2008 and another dress size by the end of 2009. That gives me enough time to exceed my expectation!!

-- How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)? I'm changing my eating habits- eating more frequently and healthier. Taking healthy food to uni and more of it, instead of buying cheap take away every day. And I'm going to the gym between 2-6 days a week (varies frequently) and doing my weights and cardio program.

-- Who or what can support you in reaching your goal? I'm hoping that this website can offer the support that I need to help me reach my goal. Also my mum is really supportive. She went through heaps of weight loss challenges when she was my age too.

-- How realistic is your goal? I think my goal is really realistic. Mainly because I'm giving myself such a long time frame to achieve it. It allows for my moments of motivation drops and stuff.

-- When will you start?
I started last week, so we'll see how it goes!!

Here are my details (just for record purposes)

Height: 175cm/ 5'7"ish
Heaviest weight: 82kg (end 2007)
Current Weight: 80kg exactly
Ideal Weight: 60kg. Maybe 65kg.
Ideal Dress Size: size 10 (Aussie Dress Sizes)
Diet Date: 19th April 2008

WISH ME LUCK!!!!

Hey Rosegoldsonata!

I think this plan sounds great, healthy and very realistic! The fact that you're giving yourself a good long while to lose the weight means you're much more likely to reach you're goal and stay there!

Well done and I think you 100% can and WILL do this!

Ok, I'll get acknowledgements out of the day first :p

In answer to DarwinFish, I've adjusted my eating habits to the extreme (so no soft drink or juice and no take out and limited bad foods- I let myself indulge once a month. I'll whittle it down to fortnightly and monthly etcetc) and I've got myself going to the gym frequently too!

Thanks for the support Pink Fluff!! You have no idea how reassuring it is to have support from someone in the same boat as me with the same goals! I've had problems with motivation in the past but I think that having you walking the same path beside me will help heaps!!

==========================================================

Ok so now I'll get into the diary bit of business.

FOOD I'm quite happy with my current eating habits. I eat breakfast now (most days) and I take my lunch with me to uni. This helps me a) save money and b) stay away from bad foods!

I always take an apple and a carrot for snacks and I take nutrient water, some sandwiches and museli bars. This may seem like a lot, but I'm at uni most days from 9am to 8pm (!!!!). I've never really eaten very well in the past and I think my lack of finances is actually a good thing in my battle for healthy foods!! Which is a result I never thought would happen!

And it's getting to the stage now where I am not really interested in all the bad foods and drinks. I used to crave soft drink so much so that I could hardly function without it. Now I don't even THINK about it and have no interest in it whatsoever. A BIG accomplishment for me!!

GYM I've been a bit lax in my gym attendance so far. It kinda gets me down, but I'm actually craving a run now (which is rare for me) so I'll go tomorrow and run myself senseless!! Take advantage of this rare gem!! And I'll do a self weigh-in on Thirsday or Friday and let you know how I've gone!!!

:hurray::hurray::hurray::hurray:

Ok, so I was naughty. I weighed-in this week two days early. But only cos i think I'm starting to see results already! Maybe it's just wishful thinking but oh well.

The good thing, however, is that I refuse to own a set of scales, so I have to go to the gym to weigh in. And I upped my weights and increased my run time (independent of my weigh-in afterwards) and felt generally a lot fitter so I was curious and the scales beckoned to me on my weigh out shall we say!! ROFL (note to self- get a life!)

And I'm officially out of the 80's and back into the 70s!! Not by very much, but now that I'm here, I'm going to stay the hell out of there!!

I just had to share my achievements.

I'm a uni student too and I find it so hard to eat the right foods while im there! I'm always tempted to get wedges or pizza lol:)

Housekeeping first :Angel_anim:

Pink Fluff:That weight loss was about a week. My current weight loss is a week too. They're all about a week-ish :leaving: how is your WL going?

Trying_hard: Thx for your well wishes and support! I think it's being on here and having the support from people like you that's helping me through everything!! I'll keep an eye on your progress too. I think us both being students is a good thing to keep our eyes on the prize! All too often I seep back into my old ways (which is chicken schnitzel & chips for me, although I admit that wedges and pizza have made their appearances) but i think that knowing that you're out there too handling it with me will help a bunch!!!

DIARY TIME: :auto:

I went to the gym yesterday and found it really good (as I haven't been since my last entry). I was a bit anxious of putting on weight again because of this. But I was pleasantly surprised when I hopped on the scales, as I lost 1.3kg last week!! An awesome achievement for me! So my eatign habits must definitly be improving!! which is such a relief!

So here are my stats to date:

CURRENT STATS

starting weight: 81kg
current weight: 78.6kg
total weight loss: 2.4 kg (2.96%)

and more to lose!!!! Cheers all for the support!!

Well done on your loss so far! Another Aussie woot!

I am pretty sure 175cm is like 5'8" or 5'9", just thought you should know, I always love finding out I'm actually taller!

Good luck with your weight loss, i look forward to seeing your progress.

Hi!

WoW! Well done! Another loss, you're doing really well and obviously ur diet and exercise is working!

Keep us posted, and you can do it!

Em's Progress Report (Part 1)

Well this is my first report on how my journey to my thindom is going.

I've never been a fan of weighing myself regularly, so I have no good indication of how much weight I put on and when, but all I know is that when I was dating my first serious boyfriend, I went from an Aus size 12 to a bit more than 14. I dropped a bit when we broke up, then put it back on again.

This year I decided that I have it in me to drop a dress size by the end of this year and another by the end of next year. My bro, dad and aunt are reaaaalllly skinny so I know I don't have too many genetic issues against me. When I started seriously at the gym this year, I was 81kg. That was one and a half months ago (April 28th). It's now June 14th and I'm done to 77.5kg and I'm just stoked that I'm closer to 75kg than 81 now! I've made small goal weights along my way and I've adjusted my weight goal now too.

My new goal is to be a Aus size 12 by my 22nd birthday, which is October 30th. This is about 6 and a half months away, and I only have to loose about 0.5kg a week until then to make it. A bit more realistic I think, especially considering as though this is my first *SERIOUS* attempt to lose weight, with eating properly and exercising regularly.

And I have a new job too which I think will help. I now work in retail instead of hospitality, so I'm no longer surrounded by food 100% of the time!!!

My diary aim is to write in here weekly, so some time on the weekend I will post the trials and tribulations of my week.

Thanks for being here to support my journey!!! :blush5:

First weight loss goal achieved!!

Hey all!!

This is just a progress note. I know I haven't been around in ages, but that's just cos I'm concentrating on my music right now (I have an important audition coming up soon).

But I'm still going strong on my weight "management" it's now called here in Aus, for political correctness. Bah!!

I was unmotivated for a while there, but got right back on the horse when I realised it was happening.

I've officially lost 6kgs (13.2lbs). I started at 81kg (178.6lbs) and am currently at 75kg (165.4lbs).

75kg was my first weight loss goal!!! I'm so excited!! I started my journey at the end of april. I know it's not a lot of weight loss considering that fact, but my lifestyle makes it hard for me to keep a continuous strain of exercise going.

My first long-term weight loss goal is to lose a dress size but my birthday (end of October), and I'm halfway there now!!

Just wanted to let everyone know, because you've all been a huge inspiration to me- every single one of you. Even when I disappear for a time, it's great knowing that I'm not alone in my journey and that I have pals in you on here. Thank you so much! So I hope that this post gives something back in the motivation arena.

KEEP ON KEEPING ON GUYS!!! I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!
