muscles

Hi there peeps. im something like a month into my training right now. I do 16 min cardio on the treadmill (interval training) and i do alot of weights as well (chest, biceps, triceps, shoulders and peks). You see when i go to the gym (every other day) i do everything in that gym session. so i first do 16 minutes interval on the treadmill (very knackering) and then move onto weight training on all muscles.

Now, do you peeps recommend me to set a day to a particular muscle group (like mondays chest, tuesdays shoulder) or is training everything in the 1 gym session, ever other day, fine? if you recomend for me to devote a day to a muscle group then why? any input would be great as i think this is a interesting topic. thanks

3 fullbody routines are very effient for average trainees. That would include:

1.Squat & Varations
2.Deadlift & Varations
3.Bench & Varations
4.Row & Varations
5.Pulldown/chinups & Varations
6.Military Press & Varations

Do 3x8 on each lift. Choose 6 excercises per session

Hell No

3 Times a week/ Full body training is something I would expect a good looking woman just starting her training for a Figure Competition.

If you want some muscles to show up, You need to dedicate more time to linking muscles. Like Chest / Triceps, Back / Biceps, LEG DAY!

3 Exercises / Bodypart for 3 sets of 10 should be a solid start, three weeks to a month later, try going heavier for 4 sets of 5 reps.

It's your body, what do you want out if it?

That's just plain rediculous

Are you saying that a woman doing a figure competition and doing that workout is rediculous or that my saying HELL NO, don't do that is?

Cuz it was a joke to let him see that full-body workouts are good to maybe get you back into working out, but you need to spend more time on each part in order to get better results. Now go tell somebody else they are rediculous!

I've seen men add serious mass with a full body routine, so don't knock 'em.

I would go with newf's advice, or an upper/lower split, same guidlines newf said.

agree with mreik here. but you might not want to do heavy squats and heavy deadlifts on the same day.. it can be quite demanding

Very true, since you're relatively new to the game you could. Mostly because your gains for a few more weeks will be more neurological than physical, so the strain will be on your CNS..

on the program ive been on for some time now (not anymore though) on the day i did deadlift i did a light squat, i think it was about 20% less than my usuall squat training weight
