I was wondering how long it takes your muscles to heal enough to the point where it is work out the same body part again? For example, you work out your arms, should you wait 2 days, a week?

Also i am obviously trying to get big if anyone has any ways that will get me big fast with out any kind of steroids or drugs, just work out plans etc. please let me know, what to eat when to eat etc? thanks

It depends on: your diet, your genetics, your volume. In the end, listen to your body. Average is 2 days.

There's a great link somewhere around here about bulking, ~LV~ posted it, get your ass in here and give the man the link LV! lol

There's no magic formula that will help you do it faster like the other guy said it depends on genetics and diet etc.

Bulk .

I linked it to the word "here" so the sensitive people won't get offended.

;)

Yeah good thinking, hopefully people will actually read it this time rather than just judging it by it's cover.

Yea I understand everything about the bulking up part. If anyone knows any good website or any one can give me tips on diets please let me know.

Also about the muscle healing thing some people work out the same body part like every other day and some people do it once a week etc. what do you all do?

Did you even look at the link LV provided? Read the WHOLE first post, twice. Work you muscles again once they feel 100% healed, 24-48 hours.

Pretty much that entire link contains tips on "diets" if you wanna bulk up, go through all of it like mreik said.

I have a routine, while I'm in the gym, I do bench press, tricep pulldowns, butterflies, lat pulldowns, curls, and some other variations of stuff. It's recommended to do 3 sets, but I don't get sore enough, I do at least 5 or 6+. I'll do the same exercises every other day, and rest for the weekend. So I'll work out on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, rest on the weekend. On Tuesday and Thursday I'll do some legs, more abs, sometimes I'll slip in a set of something for the arms, but usually just enough to get them hot, not actually work them. You can work your abs every day. But I'm not expert, that's just a routine I enjoy.

I usually maintain the 3 set rule. On bench, legs and abs though, I do 4 sets to really kill em.

When I first started workin out, I worked each body part every other day. But I got better results workin em once a week.

It really depends on your body, I guess.

You got better results because you gave your muscles time to repair/rebuild.

I reckon so. I have a fast metobolism, so my body absorbs everything I put in it. I stay on healthy foods, shakes, etc all week. My muscles stay swolen (almost post workout level) for about 6 days. By the time I go back in, they're ready to be worked.

The problem for me, is that when I do 3 sets, my arms just don't get that good of a workout. They never really get sore. But when I do 5+ sets, I can feel the burn the next day, and then I work my arms every other day and rest the weekend. For some reason, I plateau when I do 3, but I can do more than that, and I move past the plateaus. Now, given that on the 5th, 6th, and sometimes 7th set, I do less weight, where as my arms can't do how much I had on there before, so I think it's alright.

Wow, that's a lot of time in the gym. The longer your workouts, the more likely you are to skip em. Instead of 7 decreasing sets, try just adding a kill set to your set of 3. Do a 4th set, real heavy and do as many (at least 3) reps as you can. Or even do 4 sets at regular weight and a 5th kill set. Don't be too concerned with lack of soreness. After your body gets used to working out, you may feel little to no soreness. Personally, I work to failure, and still don't feel sore sometimes. But I know I've killed it.

People give up volume before intensity. So up your weight and you should be fine? The soreness doesnt really mean anything i get sore off of 3 sets of 10 at 185 on bench, but I do 4 sets of 6 at 225. Im pretty sure the more intesity the more it works.
