Muscle increase seems to have ceased

Hi there

I have been training my body for nearly 6 months and have concentrated alot at creating a muscular increase in body size and strength, I had joined a gym a while back but the membership price got too expensive and began training at home with some 7 1/2 lb weights i got for xmas though I train with 10lb's at the free college gym.

I followed this routine i am about to show you 3/4 times a week in a morning and on a night:

1: 25 Bicep Curls
2: 25 Tricep Curls
3: 25 of one weight over the head and lifted up and down the shoulders with both hands.
4: 25 of pulling the weights in and out of the chest in a chest press fashion.
5: 10 of lifting the weights up from my sides with arms straight out like flapping wings.
6: 25 Bench Flys on the floor
7: 30 press ups
8: 25 sit ups with weights ontop of feet
9: 25 crutches
10: 25 Leg lifts

My dailt diet consists of a packet of mixed red and green grapes in a morning followed by 2 oranges. a chicken burger from canteen, a bottle of apple juice and a meal when i get home followed by either a bag of crisps or a chocolate bar for a treat. Half a carton of orange juice everyday and about 2 apples each day.

I follow this same routine but now my body size seems to no longer increase, I worry its that my body has gotten used to my training routines and i want to get back on the road to getting more muscular. What am I doing wrong and what should i do?

Try not to assume that ~LV~ is telling you to do steroids when you clearly have not read the post behind the link. Not that there is very much good advice in that link, since it was written by and geared towards juicers, but he is not suggesting you do steroids.

haha, did you guys even read the link.

It is not about steroids at all, although it says that in the link to the website, it is actually a good post about nutrition/caloric needs for bulking.

I think what LV was trying to say was that you have to eat...a boatload.

Madhatter, you need to develop a routine. Don't use the same weight for every exercise first off, don't do the exact same exercises every time you workout either. Even if you do full body 3 times a week, you should switch up the exercises.

If you are doing the same thing at the same weight all of the time, your body will simply be use to it and won't grow (especially if it isn't being helped along with food).

Develop a routine, with whatever equipment you have available, if you can get to a gym, do it. Do different exercises, full body, don't forget your legs!

Here is a red flag I noticed. You want to build muscle, but you're using weights my newborn son will be lifting. You've been lifting for six months, I hope you havent been lifting only these. Up your weight! Three sets of 6-8 reps.

I dissagree, I don't encourage people to use steroids, especially vulnerable people who are clueless on the matter. Steriods are for losers mate. build strength and mass naturally through core exercises and compound techniques heavy weight low reps.
Who was encouraging people to use steroids? That's not even cool that you suggested this.

Did you even open that link or did you just assume by the word "steriod" in the link? Looks like you judged a book by it's cover.

Thank you.

Also, that diet is NOT geared towards people who use anabolics. That's solid bulking information that many people have had great success with.

The diet @ the bottom is!! (10k +) O well people do steroids, get over it. That doesn't mean someone who uses can't give great advice, it's just not the road most are looking to walk down. GREAT POST ~LV~, and to all you sensitive people who were offended by seeing the word 'steroid' in the web address, get over it..

You mean steroids are the answer?
Isn't there another way?!

Sorry I have badly calculated my weights by saying what one side of the bar adds up to in total its 15 Lbs, so i guess i should go 2 lbs higher right?

Building mass you want to lift heavy weights, a few times. I would go up 30lbs or something. Do you even feel anything lifting 15lbs?
