Motivation

Between the time I got married and the time I got pregnant, I gained 30 lbs, then another 30 during the pregnancy. 10 months later I've lost a total of 45 lbs, but I still want to lose 15 more and definitely need to tone up the thighs, hips, and abs. I know what I need to do to accomplish this, but I find it hard to keep myself motivated. I find myself just reaching for quick meals, including junk food, instead of taking the time to make a salad. Or just craving the less healthier foods. And I wind up doing a lot of "comfort eating" just eating when I'm stressed, etc. And then I always have so much to do, working out gets pushed to the end of the list. And we can't afford a gym membership right now, which would solve the problem of having to watch my daughter while working out. When I do get to work out at home, I always have to stop to tend to her.

How can I get myself motivated and dedicated to eating healthier and working out? Any tips!?

You are already 75% to your goal, which is commendable. Bing in the home stretch should be a significant motivator. Since I do not know you, I cannot know what motivates you. People have varying motivations. Some people are motivated by money, others by family, others by self-satisfaction, and so forth. First you need to determine what motivated you to lose weight in the first place.

Great advice by Tanizaki about determining what motivated you in the first place.

A good way some people motivate themselves is too look at your body in the mirror, then close you eyes and imagine the body you are going to have if you just keep strong and stick to your goals, picture that body in your mind and tell yourself you WILL achieve your goals and overcome Anything or anybody who trys to get in your way...Open your eyes then go train.

That won't work though for somebody who isn't even sure if they WANT to progress any further. I think you should ask yourself exactly how much do you WANT to get the weight down...Do you feel horrible or are you generally happy with your shape and appearance and the way you feel walking down the street.
