Motivation Section

Mel Def's great post in the weight loss section and a quote from a NAVY SEAL got me thinking, Why don't we have a motivational section? I don't know if members should be able to post to it as it might get cluttered quickly, but instead have the best motivational posts.

Whaddayathink, mods?

you are motivation!

I don't know if we really need more subforums.. we have a lot of forums with low activity. Maybe we could make it a sticky and have links to all the great motivational posts there. I don't know how many people love to read motivational posts and how many people are actually helped by them. If this is something a lot of people feel for, then I'll see what I can do.

Motivation

I get great motivation from watching and reading about fitness/sport success stories. When I watch the Ironman from Hawaii and the wonderful human interest stuff I can't wait to get back to training. Maybe Karky in your infinite wisdom you could put something together where we all could get motivation and support from members' individual achievements no matter how small they may be.
It bugs me that we never hear from the runner who wants info on training for his first 10K. How did it go? Did it suck? Did you quit or win the darn thing? Benching your own body weight is a great accomplishment even if it's only 150lbs and we never hear about small steps by members.
Just a few thoughts or posts on follow up seem like motivation in itself. I'll never bench 300 lbs but setting and achieving individual goals is great stuff to keep pushing ahead. I'd like to hit 225lbs but it seems like small potatoes when compared to the power numbers. Just think about the guy who finally does 100 lbs but is embarrassed to mention his success.
Weight loss, stopped smoking, 2 inch gain on my chest, fit into the bathing suit are all milestones and motivational. Reaching every goal needs to be shared and celebrated by us all.
