Most EFFECTIVE belly fat burner?

I'm 17, 158 pounds, 5'8 tall. My dad has a lot of fitness equipment including pull up bar, treadmill, 45 feet long pool, medicine ball, dumbells, you name it.

I really am desperate to lose this belly fat , i dont look fat at all with clothes on, but i live in puerto rico and im white as crap! i wanna go to the beach and not be ashamed!

What's the most effective exercise to burn this?

I have a lot of free time now that m yclasses are basically over, thanks A LOT!

Genetics may play a part..some people just have more fat in their midsection and others have it elsewhere.
How much do you work out and how are your eating habits?

It is pretty much impossible to spot reduce any area, but if you want to lose body fat the best thing is to do a combination of cardio and strength training. If you do high intensity interval training where you do one really high intensity segment followed by an active recovery weights segment, you will get great results. Not sure if you are familiar with what exercises you can do with the equipment you have available, but there are some helpful sites if you just google "exercises to do with dumbbells" or " medicine ball exercises" or "cardio exercises to do at home" etc.
If you are not doing heavy weights, and really just using them for cardio and a bit of toning, then you should be able to do a circuit style workout 5 days a week.

the other part of the equation is obviously watching what you are eating. You should eat 5-6 small meals a day and eat lean protein with each meal. Go online and google a weight loss calorie level calculator to work out how many calories you should be eating in order to lose weight. Once you know this just make sure you are sticking to it and along with your exercise you will see results.

It looks like you don't have to far to go to meet your goals. Personally I like Burpees because they work your whole body and get your heart rate up. It gives you some cardio and strength training at the same time. Plus, anything in a plank/pushup position works your abs really well.

You will want to build some muscle and do cardio. Muscle increases the amount of calories you burn throughout the day.

Hey 160, welcome!

I've posted these links a few times, but they are quite helpful for putting together your exercise and diet plan:

For the nutrition aspect of things, this might be a good link for you to read:

Nutrition 101 – www.body-improvements.com

I know it's a lot of reading... definitely come back and ask questions. One of the best things that you could do is to start a journal in the journal section... that way we can tweak your plan as you go!

Good luck!

PS: Forum traffic really slows down by the end of the week, and then picks up again through the weekend... So don't be surprised if your posts on Wed & Thurs take a bit longer to get a response!
