I am taking one serious leap here people. But I figure this will give me some sort of accountability and will make me want to keep pushing. However I do see changes, I still haven't lost a single pound. In fact I've gained a little. But even though I am really confused about all this I am still pushing every single day. One thing that has changed though is my strength. I start on day 14 with my strength training coupled with whey isolate and in the 2 weeks since I have seen a serious gain in muscle mass as well as feeling stronger. Perhaps I am replacing fat with muscle hence why I have lost inches but not weight. Who knows. Anyways I give a warning that these are w/o shirts and may cause permanent blinding if looked at for to long hehe. Hope yall see what I see.

I don't play when it comes time to work peoples, I sweat with the best of them! The ones on the left are from June 3, 09 and the ones on the right are from July 2, 09. Try not to be to harsh now!

And a random one

Well, you definitely are making some dramatic changes in your shape.

You pretty much have to be packing on some muscle to change shape that much and still be the same weight.

You're taking whey supplements? What's your total caloric intake?

Very large people and those new to strength training can still build muscle while in a caloric deficit. That could well be you.

WOW!!! There is a difference in your body comp now. If you are strength training save yourself tons of pain on the scale and invest in a body fat calipers. That will help you track your percentage of fat loss. I know it can be soooo frustrating not seeing the scale move but that is just ONE way to measure progress. You just need to keep on keeping on and know at least I am watching and looking for you improvements I know they will be inspiring!

wow, your doing a great job, i'm particularly amazed by the side shot because there's a really big change and in just one month? wow, thats a job well done!

Ya I take a Whey Protein Isolate shake. About 60 grams post workout (eat before) actually its a little more than 60grams cuz I use it with milk and not water. And my caloric intake varies vastly. One day it could be 2200 and another it could be 3500. This is mainly due to the job I have. And even at my weight those numbers (around 3000) seem alright. If you wanna do the info on the whey lemme kno Ill post up all the info for it.

If you really want to see the pounds come off start doing alot of cardio. I hate cardio but it works. How tall are you? How often do you work out?

Well for the last 2 weeks I have been going a mile a minute with work and family stuff. Oil Patch finally got kinda busy again so. Anyways, I haven't missed any lifting sessions but I have just been exhaused and havent ran much at all(in the last 2 weeks). I'ma start back up this week sometime. But I strength train every 2 days and I was running/walking 5 days week about a mile to a mile and a half every time. I am also 6'3

I am Oil Field trash also :smash: We have not slowed down at all. We just keep drilling and drilling. They figure the price of oil is going to go back up and when it does we will be ready for it. Im working at least 50-60hrs a week.

Running will burn calories faster than anything else. I lost alot of weight first before I started really lifting by doing tons of cardio and some resistance training. I am now lifting on mon-wed-fri and doing cardio tue-thur.

Hm. Looks like you're making progress so I don't know that I'd change anything, but the problem with not really tracking or being consistent is that you can't know what it is that's working and what's not working.

So that's hard. Either you can get really consistent to be able to pinpoint things, or you can keep going the way you are for now, which seems to be working. :)

I would disagree about the "lots of cardio" comment. I think 30-40 mins of cardio a day is plenty - and if you can build in some HIIT or even just straight intervals, that will also help. But it also sounds like you have a pretty physical, intense job, so that hs to factor in.

One thing is that I would suspect, is that your diet might be contributing to your exhaustion. When you are working out so intensely, you need to make sure your diet is right on track or it will just kick your butt!

How many calories are you going to burn in 30 minutes ? Im not saying that its not going to help but to really get results I think you have to kick it up. Mix it up though, do your 30 minutes on the treadmill, do 20 on the bike and another 20 on the eliptical. Push yourself as hard as you can go for as long as possible.

Right now I can only just walk for a bit and sprint for a bit back and forth. Mind you I am still 350+ and I am already feeling it in my knees.

The bike is your friend. You wont burn calories as fast but its alot easier on your body than running.

That is another problem. I have start eating some veggies but I do alot of work out of town and it is hard to eat properly when I do so. But when I am home I eat lean meats, chicken, some veggies, to much milk probably haha, sandwiches, fresh fruits, etc. I tend to keep it really really simple. If I find something I like I tend to eat that for like 2 months until I get bored lol. And one occasion I will eat out but I rarely get fries or cokes, which honestly was hard for like the first week but its pretty easy to live without haha. Sure my diet could be more hardcore but I am looking at the rest of my life.

Set up tank pads, pump jacks, lay gas/lead lines, reclaim work. Im not on a drilling rig or anything like that. I spent alot of time in hotels at my old job, I did the traveling thing for over 7 years and had enough of that. So I know all about eating fast food all the time. I lost all my weight when I started working in the oil fields.

Awesome man, I got this job alomost 1 year ago. I did wireline for a week and got in a serious injury and my boss was nice to not fire me and move me to a different position. I am a tagger/tracer. If you dont know what that is I'll let ya know. I would say I have an easy job but it is still physically demanding esp. given my weight. But ya I am out of town alot and thats how losing weight is much more of a challenge for me than most people I think. Sometimes I really dont have a choice but a mini choice in what I eat at those bad places. But hey, like i said before. Good family, good job, good food...good life! If it takes me 3 years to do this...than so be it. But I will always push for sooner :)

You should know that you are inspiring people to go on no matter what seeing your results. I see some really huge people in the gym I'm currently attending and some of them were gone just after a month. They have let go and that's because most of them expects Fairy-God-Mother-Lyposucker to the rescue just after that short time. (sighs)
