I am a 36 year-old mother of 4. My husband is really into fitness and working out, but you cannot tell it by looking at him right now. I weigh 220#, am 5'8". There is a history of diabetes on my mother's side of the family and heart disease on my father's side. Both my husband and I are working out 5 days a week for at least 30 minutes a day. DH is doing tae bo and walking on the tread mill. He also does strength training a couple of days a week. I am using the Walk Away The Pounds dvd to help with my goals. I do not want to overdo it and loose too much too fast.

Every night, we eat a salad. I eat immitation bacon bits and Italian dressing with mine. DH eats lettuce with eggs. I drink 2 cups of coffee every morning and water or juice the rest of the day.

I have begun my last semester at NWCC in Oxford, MS so I have a little stress on me at this time.

Hi MommyG4,
Welcome to the forum!

Good for you and for your husband to take control of your health and fitness!

I have to ask, about how many calories are you getting per day - You didn't mention breakfast, lunch or two snacks, so I wanted to check ;)

It sounds like you have the fitness side of this down and have something that works well for you guys (that's half the battle sometimes!)

Have you checked out or http?://www.fitday.com ? They are both great resources for managing food & exercise.

Best wishes to the two of you!

Kewl, thanks

For breakfast, I have about 2 cups of coffee with milk (2%) and 2 tsp sugar, 1 cup Kellogg's Strawberry cereal (Special K, I think) with 1/2 cup 2% milk.

Lunch usually consists of grilled chicken, either flavored with Lemon Pepper or Terriyoki (sp) or hamburger with 1/2 tsp mayo, mustard, pickles. We also do wraps with grilled chicken 2 txp ranch dressing, lettuce, and of course tortilla shell. I either drink water or cranberry juice.

Snack is usually grapes, bananas, strawberries or another fruit about 16 oz.

Dinner most always is a salad with lettuce, 1 boiled egg, 2 tbsp bacon bits, and 2 tbsp Italian dressing with water to drink.

I did GREAT this weekend

although I did not do my normal Walk Away the Pounds, I cleaned house and did not pig out like we sometimes do. I did splurge a little for lunch Saturday, getting the Fajita meal at the local Mexican restaurant, but other than that, I stuck with our meal plan.

well done on keeping up the meal plan hun :)
dont worry about the occasional trest - you know sometimes disallowing all foods that we like can make us crave them more and leads to binging.
have a nice weekend!
