Mixing up types of workouts

I have sort of hit a plateau as far as how much I can lift. Should I try one week of strength training, heavy weight with few reps? Usually my reps are 15,12,10,8.

It would be good to try something like that, but for more than a week, change your routine too. Have you been doing the same exercises every week?

Ok so I decided to do some strength training for at least the next few weeks. My usual reps were 12,10,8,6. Now if im lifting for strength, should i do 8 reps max, 6 min?

That would be ok, personally, I would go a little lower then 6, probably around 4, but thats just me. When I go for strength, I do a warm up, and the heavier sets are between 4 and 6, the last one around 4.

Either way, make sure you have a spotter

Yea I usually have a spotter, especially benching. Is it good to do say two weeks strength training and 2 weeks back to my regular training, and just keep switching off?

You might check out teh way (Westside) structures their workouts. Also, google Ed Coan's deadlift routine and google the Soviet squat routine.

There's always the Pendlay 5X5 routine that's awesome.
