Miss Marie's Diary

After being MIA from the boards for a year I am starting a new diary!

Age: 23
Height: 5'4" on a good day
Current Weight: 197
Goal Weight: 140
Mini Goal: 165 by May 1st

I'm a big lurker on the boards but don't normally post much. I think the diary will help me reach out more. Like most people I don't eat enough healthy food. I live off of processed food. I've actually had some issues with digestion from how badly I've eaten! I've gone through a lot of life changes in the past year. Graduating from College, starting a full-time job, moving for the job, and settling in to married life.

I enjoy doing Taebo but it doesn't always get me off the couch when I'm tired. I'm not a morning person so struggle to get up without someone else saying "hey lets go exercise."

Welcome to the forum! That's great that your doing the couch to 5k program, I did cross country during my senior (I just graduated this year) and as hard as it was I really enjoyed it. Of course, after cross country I didn't keep up with my running and now I'm trying to work my way up to running again. Good luck with the program, with motivation you can do anything you set your mind to :)

Well its been blistering cold here lately so I failed to get my butt up and do the couch to 5k. I've been doing TaeBo daily which has been pretty engergizing. I've been enjoying my chocolate a little too much lately but it is near Halloween (excuses excuses). I really need to do a better job of counting calories!! Then I wouldn't eat that candy!! I signed up for the November Challenge so hopefully that will help hold me accountable and I can lose 10 lbs next month. Wouldn't that be great!!

Started November off strong. Did 30 minutes of exercise yesterday and an hour today! I also did a little bit of house cleaning today and that burns calories so good for me! I went out to eat for a work function yesterday and brought the majority of my meal home. I can eat it for lunch in the next few days. Much better than eating it all in one sitting (it was a lot of food). Other than that I've been doing research on heart healthy diet changes. My dad suffered a stroke earlier this year and high blood pressure is a common hereditary issue in my family. Health has become a focus but even with recent health issues hasn't become a huge priority. I hoping to change that with tracking my exercise and slowly cutting out unhealthy food in my life. I'm looking forward to seeing some results but already feel better from exercising!

Ugh well I've actually gained weight!! I'm a slacker! My husband and I are going to join the YMCA in our new town. We're moving to Wisconsin in 2 weeks. He's going to train for a Triathalon (he's already in much better shape than I) and I'm going to keep working on losing weight. We've already cut out a lot of our sweets and not bought as much junk food. Its a start! Slow and steady wins the race. Just so long as I don't keep gaining weight! I came very close to seeing 200 on that scale (up to 199 at one point). Its time to buckle down!

Hi

Hi Miss Marie!

I just wanted to encourage you to start posting your intake and exercise as often as you can - and to keep track of it daily. It really helps because it's kind of like you're keeping yourself accountable, and it's really helpful when other people comment and give you voices to bounce off of. Don't put it off until you move to Wisconsin. Take control of each day.

And good luck!

Beth
