Writing my accomplishments out and my goals always tend to give me more motivation to continue trailing along.
Back in January, I began exercising quite a lot on a stationary bike that my grandma had given me that was hers at one point. I began using it daily between January and the end of February. After I went on vacation, I came back home and lacked the motivation I had before I left, because after a week of relaxing in Florida, I was out of schedule. I ended up losing 12 pounds. I started out at 174 and creeped down to 162.
I've maintained to stay at the 162 mark, but now I want to finally get back out there and lose this weight! I started walking around my neighborhood yesterday morning. I walked a mile and it wasn't bad at all, so this morning I plan on knocking it up to two miles instead.
Aside from walking, I also just started the "Special K Challenge" because I read a lot of good reviews on it and decided to give it a shot, because regardless, it's healthier than my normal choosings for breakfast and for lunch. I eat 1 serving in the morning with 1 cup of 2% milk and it puts my breakfast at just 250 calories, instead of eating a ham and cheese omlet with hasbrowns and ketchup, right?! Definitely doing myself some good switching to Special K Red Berries cereal (which is very delicious!)
Thing is, this isn't a diet for me, it's a life style change, and it's going to be permanent. I've quit drinking sodas since February and I've only been drinking water and little juices here and there. I've also cut out all candies and all chips as well. I could down a 12-pack of Mountain Dew in two days...yeah, I was THAT BAD! and I was really big on snacking on Doritos and Lays chips as well and now? NEVER. I've come a long way, as far as cutting empty calories out and I've been very proud of it.
So, as of yesterday, I have started back towards reaching for my goal. I'm currently 162 in hopes of reaching back to 120 by November. I have 42 pounds to go. I'll keep updating this journal each day and maybe more than once a day at times. I would also like to use this thread to keep count of my calorie intake as well as my calories burned from walking.

but hell, I can't be too hard on myself. I've been doing great and I've cut out a lot of unhealthy things already. A treat every once in a while isn't all so bad.
