Military press and bench press on same day?

Would it be too much on the upper body to train with these two lifts hard on strength days? Or because they focus on different things it would be ok.

They focus on different things?

Well military is more for shoulders while bench is more of a triceps/chest exercise. I know they both use the tri's but I thought military used them much less. Maybe I'm wrong?

depends how your workout is set up and how you can handle it. The anterior shoulder will get a lot of volume so be sure to balance it out with pulling.

Depends on your overall routine.
I'm doing a push/pull routine, and I have all presses (bench, military, close-grip, incline bp) in the same day i.e I'm doing what you asking about.
The triceps gets a workout to some extent from both bench press and military press.

It is fine. I did both myself today. No big deal.

I will echo what some others have said as well. It depends a lot upon how your body handles it. It will work better for some than others.

I have never had an issue with getting sore shoulder or anything and I like others have done flat and incline bench before it so it shouldnt be a problem.

Yeah, you should be fine. I usually do 3 full body workouts a week and don't have any issues with both.

Just take it at your own pace and if you can handle it without excessive soreness or injury, then have at it.

I usually would do upper, flat, lower bench on the same day since that's what you call chest, right? Just make sure you do the hardest one first, i hope you know why....hehe

Ok I guess I'll use both then. I workout for track so I don't have upper/chest/whatever days, just strength and circuits. Thanks for the advice though.
