Miami in June- MOTIVATION

Hello,

I have been browsing this site and finally decided to jump on the bandwagon. i really need to lose 25 pounds but, it does not seem to be working. i have only been working out 3-4 times a week doing cardio for 30-45 minutes and weight training for 30-45 minutes. I have been alternating my cardio excercises like you have suggested. I have only lost one pound. :( I am a little more toned but I want to see more results. I am going to Miami in June for my birthday as always and I don't want to wear a one piece bikini.

I have not been counting calories but I have been watching my portions and cutting out sugar and lots of carbs. Help! I need all of the advice that I can get!

YAY for the beach...I'm looking forward to moving back to Hawaii this June as well...motivation rocks :)

I suggest finding your healthy daily calorie intake and start counting...its so hard when you just "think" youre eating properly...once you start counting it will amaze you all the calories you actually take in from places you didnt even think about while you were eating.

good luck and welcome :)

First, welcome to the forum! :)

I have to agree with the suggestion of counting; it might seem like a lot of trouble at first, but it's definitely worth it. Might sound a little cliche, but i actually was pretty shocked at the actual amount of calories i was taking in (both in how small and large they could be). Mostly i found that i was eating way too little, which can also be a huge detriment to weight loss.

Of course, it's still a little hard! A lot of times i'll eat foods where i'll have to make a guess at the amount of calories, which can make for some skewed results. But still, it's really a good idea to count anyway!
