I'm starting to lift a lot more weight than I could a couple months ago. The problem is that sometimes I lose confidence before sets. It happens with weight that is difficult for me but very do-able. The doubt begins to creep in and then I just stop mid set and can't finish. I know its not fatigue, its all mental.
I've tried building myself up before each lift, getting fired up, focusing on music, getting pissed off or trying keeping my mind off it. But these things are all inconsistent.
Does anyone have tips or techniques for combating the mental issue of lifting?
