Hi all, I am Sarah from Indiana. My husband has been on here for a few weeks now trying to find ways to help support me.

I don't want to post any pictures because I am the worst picture taker ever. My husband always says I have on my picture face.

Well, recently I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and my doctor wants me to lose weight to help with the pain and other symptoms.

I work out at curves 3 days a week and I am looking for somewhere to start swimming at.

Needless to say I can use all the support I can get. Loosing weight is so frustrating for me because I use to be a top ranked runner until I had to have both knees reconstructed. The thing is that I was so unhappy with so many aspects of my life while I was running that I have associated a happier life with being fat. Everything is happier, except for me being fat. It is a truly weird mental association that I just can't seem to shake.

I also struggle greatly with food, as I am sure many of you do. Ever since I was a kid I have had issues with food. My parents always tell stories about having to check under my pillow every night because I hid so much candy and junk food under there so I could eat it whenever I felt compelled. How do you break a food addiction that began before you can even remember?

Well that is a little about me. Have a fabulous day.

I beg to differ. I'm the worst picture taker ever! :p

There is a great thread that you need to check out. Very worth your time. It's called the Fear of Thin...

Welcome to the site!

Hi, I am from PA. I am very happy to read this thread. I read around this forum and saw all postings by gals.

I am a guy :)

When I read this thread where you mentioned your husband spends lot of time here himself I felt good.

For some reason my first impression was this forum is only for gals.
Not anymore :)

Hello and welcome!
It's great that you decided to join, I'm sure you'll enjoy it here
I've been wanting to get in shape, for my visit to Indiana-and your from there, that is great.
Take care and have a great weekend

I'm the husband! :seeya: As I mentioned in my intro a couple weeks ago, my name's Blake, and I'm here to learn how to help support and motivate Sarah. I'm so proud of her for trying and for all that she's accomplished and overcome now and in the past. And I kind of like her too. :blush5:

EDIT: Yeah. I totally accidentally made a few posts under Sarah's screenname!
