Medications causing nutrient depletions

Hi everyone, I thought I'd share this with you. I just bought an app on the iTunes App Store called Nutrient Depletions. The reason I bought it is because I'm currently taking Lipitor and I heard from some people that some medications cause your body to deplete nutrients, which lead to other medical conditions. I was really surprised by this information and a bit skeptical. So I started google searching it and I came across this app. It's amazing how many medicines they have in the app. You can search by medicine name or category. In either case, I found out that Lipitor might deplete Iron and Potassium in the body. Really surprising! So I'm going to adjust my diet to include some of those nutrients.

I thought this app was neat and useful and I thought some of you out there might benefit from it.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks.

I hate it when vague information is given out. What does that mean MIGHT? highly likely, unlikely, 1% of people or 20% or 80%!!!!
I sort of think it's a complete waste unless you can find out more specific information. There's enough pseudoscience and false data out there.
You know, this could just be a ploy to get you to buy their nutrients, right?

Not interested. You have to pay for health information. If the info is not available from your doctor or with your medications, then i'm doubtful about it.

Hey, I don't know why you are scrutinizing my message. I just found it to be a useful app and I thought I would share it with everyone. What I found is that it is a useful tool to look up the nutrients depleted because medications that I was taking. There are no ads or nutrients being sold.

So I don't know why you're being so negative about it. It's just helpful information.

I make sure to ask my doctor about side effects, read the leaflet that comes with the medication, and if there is still a doubt, I check the net.

Just because 'there's an overpriced app for that' doesn't mean it's any use. I'd rather not get my medical information from an iPhone, thanks a lot!
