Hello:

Female

Age: 29 years old

Height: 5'2

Weight: 137 lbs

I am beyond frustrated! I would like to lose at least 10 lbs and have been working out (with discipline) for an hour everyday after work and on the weekends. Mostly cardio (elliptical, treadmill) for the past two months. I do a little bit of weights for my arms.

My problem areas are my stomach and my thighs. I am Hispanic. My diet consists of fruit for breakfast, fruit as a snack, lunch of about 500-600 calories (lean meat and vegetable, sometimes rice) and a light dinner of 500-600 calories. Sometimes just cereal.

According to my BMI -25.05, I am overweight.

My body fact count is - 28.21 %, acceptable.

My BMR is 1406.

I need some guidance, because I have not seen my weight decrease and I am constraining myself from oveareating here and there and forcing myself to work out...for no results.

Help.

Your regimen sounds great so far!

What helps with weightloss is fiber which assists in cleansing the body.

Ever morning start off with a tall glass of room temperature water and squeeze a lemon in and chug.

Fruit is a great option for breakfast and you can have plenty of it. So make sure not to have just 1 banana, but more of a fruit salad (organic preferably).

For lunch try having a large salad with oil and vinegar dressing. But get creative. Add avocados, almonds, pumpkin seeds, onions, green peppers, red peppers, alfalfa sprouts. Any veggie that you may like.

Drink lots of water. At least 8 glasses or more a day.

Make sure to have a protein shake right after your workouts in order to give your body the nutrients it needs.

If you're craving carbs it's ok to have complex carbs such as sweet potato and long grain brown rice (soak the night before in order to remove phytic acid for easier digestion).

Interval training also helps fat burn so try to keep that in mind with on the elliptical or treadmill. For example: Sprint for 1 minute, jog for 2 minutes for 30-45 minutes.

And don't get frustrated. Regardless, you're in better condition than when you weren't as active. Either way your health inside is improving. Your heart health is most important! Stay Strong!:newbie:

Do not have plenty of fruits. It all has carbs.

If you do make a salad, take into account that things like nuts and avocados have fats in them, and to add oil as a dressing is even MORE fat.

I highly doubt you are not losing weight just by eating that. What are you drinking? What do you do on the weekends? Do you add sauces? etc etc.

That can be so frustrating. As other users have said, it so critical to take in calories so your body will continue to burn fat rather than go into starvation mode. Your basic plan right now sounds pretty good, but perhaps you need to introduce a little more strength training so you build more muscle? This will help you burn more calories all day long, every day. Cardio alone can leave you hitting a plateau and frustrated..

Also, make sure you're drinking a lot of water. Most people are never told how important water is to metabolizing fat in the body. So critical to the fat burning process, not just keeping you hydrated ;)
