I am glad to find a place i can talk with people abou my weight and not be judged and actually have support.


I was 135 for the longest time then i just started gaining now 5 years later i am at 215. I am 20 and 5' 5" i have been trying to lose the weight and get down to atleast 140 but it just isnt working. I work at Papa Johns and live with my boyfriend of 6 years. We want to get married but I keep telling him no when ever he asks because i am not happy with myself. I am happy with him but at the same time i am depressed because I have no friends besides him and his family and mine. All my friends just stopped talking to me after i moved. and my boyfriend trys to be here for me but im just tired of him lol. but i am wanting to lose as much weight as possible in the next month because well i just want to feel good about my self i am tired of my body i hate. anyone got any suggestions on how to lose 75 lbs fast not in 4 or 5 months??
 
Aslow and steady is usually better in the long run but 75 is doable in 5 months but you need to remember your rate of loss will slow down the closer you get to your goal weight.

I would suggest starting a diary here to track your food, exercise and mood. you should also to visit the diaries of other members to get to know them and make friends here to make the most of the support available.

the sort of information we need to help you are things like what sort of food you eat?, calories consumed ? exercise ?

You don't sound in a good way. You sound depressed and need to address this with a councillor. Your unhappiness is not just about your weight and chances are the weight will always come back. I would also suggest working with a dietician and getting a fitness program happening. You don't need to join a gym. Maybe a new team sport would be good for you. Or join swimming group. Or a yoga class. Actually yoga is one of the very best exercises - get one that does steady poses as the cycles one may be too strenousou for you. Try a few different teachers til you find something you like.


Yoga is strengtehning, cardio, good for the mind and mood. Its works out your whole body and its very enjoyable. The culture of yoga is good. I think it will help with your self image. My favourite type of yoga is iyengar. Its quite strong but well paced and with excellent teachers who won't make you do what you can't. YOu just work according to your own ability and limitations. I wish i could do it now but its far from where i live. And do some swimming to go with it. When you get your weight down further you can do things like running if you feel like it.


I strongly recommend you consider a new physical activity as a way of meeting new people. It may take a little while before you develop friendships with the people in the group but at least you are in a position to meet new people.


Also consider joining a meditation group. check out buddhist centres. It doesn't matter if you are a christian.

Sorry to hear ur feeling really down. I too am incredibly unhappy with my body. Eating healthy and excercise does work I just don't do it long enough to see any results. My life was crazy there for 6months and now have settled down and moved into a new place so now I have stability I can get organised and plan my days in terms of eating and exercise :)

What diets have u tried that haven't worked for u? Do u exercise?

Is it a case that u feel ur weight holds u back and u feel that making new friends is difficult because ur confidence is so low? I can relate to that.
It is great u have a supportive partner though and I'm sure be will support u if u want to eat healthy or I'm sure he'll work out with u if u asked him too.
