So Ive been doing some research on the Master Cleanse and even though Ive read a mixture of positive and negative reviews, Im still going to attempt doing it (for 10 days).

Has anyone on here done it and had positive results? Im just trying to get some feedback...and any tips/hints would be appreciated. Im in my 30s, 5'0 and weigh 174lbs...its time for a change!

Im not doing the cleanse on some crazy attemp to lose permanent weight and I dont believe its some sort of miracle fix...Im doing it because Im trying to flush my body of all the crap Ive consumed over a long period of time and during the process re-train myself to truly want to change my eating habits and lead a healthier lifestyle. So if you can offer me any positive advise/encouragement/tips Id appreciate it a lot!

Your body flushes your system all by it self. You really don't need to use this fancy sugar water less you have money to burn. I'd advise you not to look to do that stuff and instead just focus on changing your eating habits and calorie intake.

Save your money for new clothes when you slim down.

I haven't done Master Cleanse, I did one of the 'juice fast cleanse diets' some time ago and was alarmed enough that I quit early. It was one that went from raw foods to juice only, was supposed to be 10 days. Around 3 days into the juice only part, I lost the desire to do ... anything. I didn't even want to eat or drink, all I wanted to do was climb into bed and sleep.

Dunno what this master cleanse is supposed to be, but despite being on the juice cleanse for a week I didn't notice an improvement in anything afterwards, except in that I perked up again once I started eating 'real' food.

Dunno if this helps you or not, but since then I've done more looking into cleanses and such and couldn't recommend it myself. Sorry that's not more positive! But my advice would be if you go through with this and find it's making you miserable or feel worst, just cut your losses and drop it even if you're not through all 10 days.

My mom and I were going to do it, and then after a week of thinking, decided it wasn't for us. It's not supposed to be used as a way to lose weight, because you'll just gain it back plus more. It's just a way for you to detox your system. Plus if you read around, you'll learn that your body suffers from it, and you'll be very tired. I advised NOT doing it. >.< OHH, and the water was said to make a LOT of people feel sick.

can I ask why you feel like you need this? It has been medically proven to be false claims.

I tried the Master Cleanse several months ago.

I live in a place where fresh lemons are very expensive so I went so far as to order the lemons off Amazon. I tracked down the Grade B maple syrup, bought encapsulated cayenne pepper, and a canister of Sea Salt for the salt-water flush. I found a master cleanse forum and scoured it for information and I was so sure that this was going to be the first day of the rest of my life.

Honestly, I found that it sapped my energy and my food cravings were through the roof. I lost about 7 pounds over the course of 4 days on the cleanse. I came to despise the flavor of lemons and maple syrup. The day after I gave up, I ate my normal amount of food and the next morning I weighed in 8 pounds [EIGHT POUNDS] heavier. I had regained every pound, plus one.

Still, I reasoned with myself that I didn't give it a fair shake and I wanted to try again as an excuse to quit smoking cigarettes and cut way down on caffeine. Then a friend of mine forwarded me the official Master Cleanse book authored by its founder, Stanley Borroughs. I started reading it and could look past the colorful language; I consider myself a spiritually enlightened person and can appreciate a view variety of spiritual and supernatural viewpoints.

...the Master Cleanse was not developed as a weight loss program, or even a fasting plan. It is a fanatical regime designed to align one's physical, mental, and spiritual states. The author claims that ALL foods, "both good and bad foods" are responsible for all of the suffering and disease suffered by humans. The book goes on to make such astounding and ridiculous claims that it is apparent that the man who wrote it was at best imbalanced and at worst out-and-out insane.

I have the pdf copy of the book and I am willing to share it with anyone who may be interested, but I must strongly caution against pursuing the Master Cleanse or any similar "diet" or "detox" programs.

If you truly want to detoxify your body, begin drinking 2 liters of water every day. Eliminate hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, refined sugar and white flour. Look into a "real" or "whole foods" diet. You will immediately begin to see positive results including the weight loss enjoyed so temporarily by Master Cleanse followers, but with the side effects of increased energy levels and digestive function. :hurray:

I believe in flushes because i've seen some of my friend doing it and it seems to work for them. Eventhough our system naturally does the flushing but i feel there are times when we need to provide some 'assistance'.

If you read the guys book, the one who made it all upp (Stanley someone or other its in my wardrobe haha), you don't do all that stupid salt flush stuff that you get with all the lemonade "diet" kits. Its just the lemonade andd you have to drink laxative tea at night... that in itself is unhealthy! I'd imagine it does flush out your colon, but most of the detox's these days contain food.

Also it would work out verrry expensive.

It recommends to buy 40 lemons in bulk. Grade B organic maple syrup, cayenne pepper and ive forgotten anything else.

Every time i plan to do it i chicken out :L

i'm trying enema procedure as a way to lose weight. sounds of embrassing but i can do it in the comfort of my home. but of course i'm eating healthily too..i understand that when bad stuff goes out from my body, i need to put back in good stuff ..i find this process works for me..so far i'm losing unwanted weight steadily

i done it and i lost 20 lbs in 12 days.
its not easy but i really think its one of the best diets around because its really detox yor body.
