martial arts workout complement

hello there healthy people!

im matt, and im 17
i have started not so long ago (say a month) a cruzade of weight-loss, health and fitness... I weigh 80kg and I'm 1.76m tall. I want to loose some of the belly you know..! build up a nice body.. but im taking it easy!

I started practicing aikido, which could possibly be the best thing I ever did.. its just an amazing thing, its based around balance, not strenght, so it features very little physical work.. We only do about 20m of stretching, relaxation and concentration exercises per class.

I started a month ago, and now I'm pretty used to going and training every morning.. I figure its time to complement my new state of mind of physical development with some gym workout, routines, or something to basically help me lose some weight and help make things in the dojo go smoother!

so that's where YOU the pretty people of the internet can help me!
what routines would you recommend for me? or what should I seek to put emphasis in when going to the gym? I want to start from the bottom, take it easy.. going like.. 2 or 3 times a week until i get used to it and then do it more oftenly.

thanks a lot people! cheers!
from what i've read, this forum rocks!

You might be interested in full body workouts, if you're going for only 2-3x a week. I don't really know why you need to, you might as well start out at home doing push-ups, sit-ups, and squat exercises, as well as taking up biking, running, or swimming. But, wuhevah you want...so if you want to go to the gym, then go into the forums to find full body workouts and stuff.
