mar 08: 96kgs/212lbs, june 09: 85kgs/188lbs, oct 09: 63kgs/139lbs

well update, 4 odd months on. i'm currently at 64kgs/approx 142lbs. so i know a few ppl think its rather naughty that i've quit exercising. but i just want to point out. the way i was exercising and eating. it was like the army or something. i had brainwashed myself into thinking if i wanted to keep at my weight - i had to live like that forever.

and in my opinion. it wasn't eating. and i'd rather be a bit fatter and eat some of the stuff i like and have time to do extra at work so i can relax a bit at other times, i'd rather go out with my mates, do gardening on the wkd rather than going for 4 hour power walks and watever? it was just too much, and i'm stoked that its now been 9 months since i stopped exercising and i'm still able to fit into my size 8 (australian) pants. i often have dreams about tying up my sneakers and going for a run - its always a possibility, but seeing as i'm not the type to do it in halves, sigh, i have to be prepared for it to become somewhat of an obsession again, and that i'm not ready for.

i'm in a relationship, dedicated to my work, and don't have to try and find 2 hours every day for exercise, not to mention showering after gym and running, plus transport to get to the gym, setting up my ipod, tv, bike etc blah blahhhhhhhh. its so good to have a rest :)

my obvious 'problem' areas are thighs and bum. but hey. i usually walk around fully clothed, so can't whinge too much :) haha

few pics for an update:

I agree with Spark. I got a bit worried when you were of the lower weight. I think you look healthier at the 140lbs you are now. ^_~ *wink

~*~*~*~*~
Your Before/After was the first thing I saw when I joined it site. I gathered so much motivation from you.
What a change. It's just so amazing. It really is.

*Bump*

I feel this should be closer to the top of the forum..

I am truly inspired by your progress, and as we have extremely similar body types (based on the in between pics), I am hoping that we will similar after photos also. It is also good to know that maintenance is not going to kill me, and that one can still have fun. Great work! Thanks for the motivation!

Wow! you are my inspriation. I started at 96kg too, I'm now 86.4kg. I am also 5 ft 6 ish. So I can really relate to your size and see what i could look like too! I am only aiming for another 11kgs, to around 75kgs, is that still too big????? Because you are 20 less than that! How did you decide your goal weight?

You are much younger than me (I'm 38). Your hair is cool and you are very pretty. I hope one day I can post my pics like you:)

thanks guys. i'm very glad i have kept in touch with this thread for this long. so basically i hit 63kgs/149lbs in october of 2009 (down from 96 kgs). i did at one point get down to 52kgs, but that was with rigorous and frequent exercise!! i gave up exercising about a year ago, i had no life!!!!

so basically i have gotten back up to 63kgs/149lbs since then (at one point i was at 66 for a while there), but have been 63kgs for a few months now. it would appear this is what i am comfortable with. in regards to exercise, ahem, nope.

i'll tell you what i ate today however:

2 x bananas (arghhh can't help it, have at least 2 every day)
1 x large apple
salad with a quarter of a lettuce, tin of 4 beans, tin of 98% fat free tuna, 2 x tomatoes
jarrah 98% fat free chocolatte white delight x 2 - 61 calories each
coffee with skim milk and stevia
for dinner i will have lentils and some fresh vegies

when i wake up every morning i don't get a chance to eat for at least an hour and half. and i make sure i ALWAYS drink at least a litre of water before i do any eating. i sometimes wonder if thats the reason i didn't just put back on 40kgs. because i eat. A LOT of junk on the wkds. a lot. and i also drink a fair bit, but i have definitely found liquid calories don't seem to do as much damage? anyone else got an opinion on that? the reason i think the drinking used to affect/effect (?) me so negatively was because of the amount of bad food i ate when i was hungover.

so yes, i've 'maintained' for 2 years and i read something somewhere once - out of all the people that lose weight, a certain percentage of them regain it within 3 years, and the rest - within the first year. so i've still got a year eeeep.

i am 167cm tall, by the way. and 24 years old.

photo updates.

A:hurray: you look great!! I know I will never have your shape..two kids and 15 years on you..lol ;)
...but you still motivate me with you numbers....very similar to my start and my goal!!

WELL DONE for getting healthy at a young age...it will benefit you for years to come!!!

AI definitely think you should update with a few more pics you are looking great, you were about the same start weight as my fiancé is, and we have 2 months untill the wedding, so we have started gym 4-5 mornings a week, I hope she looks like you one day

hi there all. well it has certainly been a while since i updated. i'll be honest. i'm not entirely sure of my weight. i don't bother with the scales. i can tell if my clothes are getting too small. i guess when u get to a point where you are relatively happy with your weight/size, thats the way you go about looking at things. instead of killing yourself mentally over a number on the scales.

essentially, i'm an australian size 10, i started out as a 22.

this is the most recent photo that sorta shows all the bits

i would definitely be stoked to lose 5 kilograms. i'm also aware of the effort that would take. and i'm loving living a normal life now. eating healthy as a rabbit during the week. and letting myself do whatever on the weekend. seriously. i go out on dates. i have drinks with my mates. and you really can't go on a date without eating. so its all part of the parcel i guess. unless you're in (well, i find this anyway) a committed relationship with someone who is also into fitness, it can be hard to stick with the routine. i'm happy with the way things are.

i read somewhere that ppl that lose a fairly significant amount of weight put it all back on within 3 months to 3 years or something. i do not intend to do that. ever. reading/hearing that has motivated me to stay where i am. and realise why i was where i was back then. i know exactly why. and thats enough to keep me on the right track :)

Great to come back and see you updated again!

I love that your life is normal and you enjoy your lifestyle.

You did an awesome job and being able to live "normally" keeps you on track.

I love the last comment about not ever going back to where you were.

You know exactly how and what caused you to get there and now you know how not to go back.

Great job and thanks for updating!
