Man Boob help x_x

I am 15, and weight 150 lbs and about 5'10" and I have some man boobs and I'm kinda fat. I dont worry about my belly as much as my man boobs since I used to weight 160 lbs a week or two ago but I have been losing weight (I'm sure I will gain it back). Well the point is, I really want to get rid of these man boobs, and I've read some on how to.

I've heard that jogging reduces weight over your entire body, so eventually it would go down. Also, I heard swimming helps, which I can do every other week (dont ask, parent thing) since I have a pool then. I heard that if you dont burn the fat and just turn it in to muscle by doing chest related exercises, that they will actually become BIGGER. I'm not sure if this is correct or not.

So, if I swam every day for an hour or more, then every morning did 5 sets of 10 pushups (someone said with my feet on an elevated object would help like my bed or chair), and then 5 sets of 10 at night, that would help. I just signed up so I could ask anyone that reads this if that setup would work, or do I need to do extra stuff (I dont have access to a gym, and I'm too shy to ask my parents).

Also this is really embarassing, but I might as well ask... well... ever since I became fat (probably in end of 5th or start of 6th grade), err.. my nipples become big and puffy when I'm anything but cold (rarely). It is really annoying, and I dont like taking off my shirt in front of people because of it. I'm not sure why they are big and puffy, but if anyone could tell me why, or how I could make them like a normal males.

you need to lose fat.
basically get your daily calories by eating more protein and less fat and carbs.
more cardio more cardio!
lifting weights will also help.
don't completely eliminate fat and carbs from your diet though, if you do your metabolism will basically take a huge dive and you could end up losing less fat than you had planned.

best thing to do is do what your doing already, workout and cardio, now I dont mean full body workouts everyday. Work diff parts of your body everyother day, with some cardio (running, swimming, bball, etc..) execpt on the days you do your weight training do lite cardio so ur main focus of energy is on the weight training, on the other days ur not weight training step it up a knotch and do cardio harder, this will not only help ur "man boobs" but help ur whole body out as well....as for the puffyness, I really dont know, I thought i saw another thread around here somewhere about something like that but I cant remember, Im sure someone will reply with the information your looking for ;)

Is swimming considered cardio?
Swimming is excellent cardio. Go and swim 20 laps at 80% of your maximum effort and see how high your heartrate is...I would definitly swim everyday if I were you as you have ready access to a pool. I disagree that you need a split routine at this stage. You should opt for an moderate full body routine to begin with and re-evaluate things in a couple of months as you start to build strength. Building muscle in this way will increase your metabolism (muscles need more energy than fat to exist) thus helping you to shed those pounds. If you're too shy to ask your parents about joining a gym, how about investing in a set of dumbells?

I notice that you haven't posted any details about your diet. The kitchen is where most weightloss is achieved. What would be a typical days diet for you?

Thanks for replies. My diet is kinda varied. Lately I havent been eating as much, and some days I only take a snack or two. I guess I kinda have a bit of everything when I do. Meat, noodles, fruit, veggies, all that depending on what my parents cook hehe. Lately I dont even eat that much though... or try not to.

On your puffy nipples, they go away when you lose the weight.
About 4 months ago(15 lbs ago) I had them, and lost them.
Just one of those things...

This is exactly what you DONT want to do.
You HAVE to get your ammount of calories in a day, or else your body will go into starvation mode, and your results will halter, and when you get back to a normal diet, all your gains will be lost.

Wouldnt exercising and not eating much lose weight more... and I could gradually eat more as I started losing weight? I dont know.

you're not going to get the results you want. because excersizing more and not eating MUCH. could fool the scale .. it would say that your're losing weight but most of its going to be muscle and if you want to get rid of chest fat you have to lose fat not muscle.. you need the muscle to shape your chest. just look for a clean diet that gets you all of your carbs, protein and good fats along with excersize.
good luck!

Hey Viruk,

I used to be the exact same as you when I was younger. I started to put on weight when I was in grade 6 and it all went to my stomach and chest. Before I knew it I had man boobies too. Anyways I can't tell you how many years I went through embarassed about it, not wanting to take off my shirt at a pool, not wanting to change in front of people at school or the gym... I hated the way my moobies looked and tried everything from push ups to beating my chest.

Anyways as time went on and I learnt more, I realized that you can't spot reduce and that building lean muscle mass through strength training, doing cardio and watching your diet allows you the power to control how you look. Its just going to take some time brother for you to develope a little more, to build some lean muscle and to burn off that baby fat.

Have a quick look at my site for some exercises that you can do at home to help you out.

I would definitely keep to the basics though to build a strong base.

Push-ups
Squats
Lunges
Pull-ups
Sit-ups
Core

Anyways keep your chin up and remember that through hard work and determination you make your body look any way you want!

Best of luck.

Ben

Wow, thanks for that reply :) I cant do pull-ups or core (since i dont know what that is) alone, but the rest I can do. Do you reccomend when and how many of these I should do a day?

Hey Viruk!

I would suggest you put yourself through a daily circuit to start. You can do it whenever you want during the day, and have it look something like this:

push-ups - 15 to 30 of them
squats - 15 to 30
tricep dips - 10 to 20
ab crunches - 15 to 30
superman - alternate 10 per side
(go through one exercise after another and then repeat)

or

lunges - 10 to 15 per side
chin-ups - 10 to 15
chest raise - 5 times, hold position for 3-5 seconds
leg drops - 10 to 20
side plank - hold position for 30 seconds
(also go through exercise one after another and then repeat)

Have a look at my site if you don't know what the exercise are.

Take a look at some of the programs too, you might find something you will like better! It's all free so don't worry...

Hope this helps!

Ben

overall body workout *resistance training* and cardio , alongside a strict diet will be the factor to the loss of man boobs :]
