Hello everyone! I am mam and new to this forum. I am a student living with her parent :ack2: Btw sorry for my bad english, I speak and write in french usually.

Well I have being struggling with my weight for a long time :( like most people lol
I weight 185 pound and my height is 5ft9. People say I dont look like I weight 185 pound, they give me at least 165 pound, I think they are being too kind loll

I want to weight 140 pound. 45 pound to loose. such a long way to go. I am so disapointed in myself because I am in a 3 month month(only one left) vacation (no school or job) and I didn't lose a single pound. They where week that I exercised 3-4 time a weeks then i stoped* (jogging or step) but was pretty much in denial of how much calorie I have been eating lol I pretty much need to start counting exactly how much I eat, will probably keep a diary in my excel sheet.

Would love to lose 2 pounds a weeks. I went to different site, I was curious to see how much calorie did I need to maintain my 185 pound depeding on my lifestyle, and most result was between 2100-2300 cal. I was suprised that was how much I ate per day (lol I am really in denial xD) I want to stick on a 1400 calorie diet menu and exercise 4-5 time a weeks. I love to do step aerobic in the evening. I was thinking of doing 20 minute of weigh training and 40 minute of moderate cardio 4-5 time a weeks I've neve really tried weight training before. So that about it. tomorrow its my birthday :party:(cakeeeee ^^). so I guess july 28th is my start-up date.

hello there, this was my routine for the past three days:

Tuesday:

1 hour of fast walking
1620 calorie eated
2 bottle of water

wenesday

1 hour of fast walking (afternoon)
45minute of step aerobic (moderate) in the evening
1675 calorie eated
2 bottle of water

thursday

1 hour of fast walking (afternoon)
50 minute of step aerobic (moderate) in the evening
1460 calorie eated
2 and a half bottle of water
 
bleuhhh still at 185 :( was hopping to be at 183. but its weird my clothe seem a lil bit losser, they arent thight then the last time I wore them, bleuh maybe it all in my head or maybe a lost some inches. oh well.

friday and satuday I did not exercise. satuday was my cheat day. today I dont feel like exercising, idk I was supossed to exercise friday, but got really bad tummy aches loll and sunday it my favorite television night where I Snack a lil bit late than usual.

but I am back on track monday, with probably another exercise routine then aerobic step. ^^
 
Hi Mam, I hope that you enjoyed your birthday.
You seem like you are on the right track so your weight should soon start to drop. Don't worry too much about what the scales say but take more notice of how tight your clothes are and what you look like. Or measure yourself every couple of weeks with a tape measure.

So it looks like we started at pretty much the same weight. I was 185 and am about 5'6 or 5'7. So you probably look thinner because you're taller. You should post some pictures.

ohhh it been a long time!
well I'm back! finished college and started university with *gaps* 15 pounds more >.<
I now weight 200! that what I get for overeating crappy food and not exercising! At least my studies went well than usual. ok ok maybe not this semester but still!
well I'm almost done, vacation is in 1 month! and it will last 4 months! so I better get starting for my goal, cuz now I have 60pounds to lose!

as for my eating habits I've cut down on bread, I eat wayy to much of them plus they alway make me feel "crappy" afterward same for pasta. Plus I boiled my egg instead of the scrambled one that I cook with oil then eat it with mayo. no more mayo for me!

plus I only eat chicken and bacon (1 slice) no other kind of meat (except if I order some subway :D 1-2 a month) I enjoy some canned soup, brown rice, fruits and vegetable.

I had to cut down on those nutri-bar from kellog! I though they where healthy : oh no! not with all that crap they put in it , same for my cereal, to much sirup and stuff, guess I learned to read the ingredient label :D Plus restarted to drink more water, most of the time I dont drink enough!

Now as for exercising... step aerobic doesnt give me enough plus I get bored. but I love to walk-run down the stair (weird I know) but Im alway shy (don't ask why, plus it in my own house with my family! they don't mind but still lol) well I need to get back to it, I should do it in the afternoon (45min) : less people, when I do it at + when I do it at night I cant get some sleep after duh.

Well that all, I hope I will keep track with this diary,share my ups and down :D

edit: did 25min on stair & 10 min light joggin, felt great
 
Breakfast:

1 slice of bread
2 boiled eggs
1 celery

Lunch:

Salad (no dressing) or ceréral with banana
apple

snak:
unsalted peanut and unsalted sunflower seeds

Supper:

Laitus
vegetable
rice
chicken turnedos

or

1 slice of pizza (dellissio) (cheating day)

or

canned soup with vegetable
salad

snack: apple sauce
or a fruit
 
Good Luck! Still plenty of time to get to lose some weight by summer and then get to your goal by at least this time next year!

Remember while there is always tomorrow you will never get to your goal weight until you start putting lots of efforts into the today's and it seems like you are! :)
 
Hey Mam, best of luck with the weight loss.
Try and stay away from as many packaged foods as you can if possible and go for the fresh fruit and veggies instead, plus chicken breast and lean met.
You can do it!

Oh yeahh I will stay away from those packaged foods and junk one.
Felt pretty great of doing 45min of cardio today ( walking on stair + walking around) hope I will keep it up & do a lot of cardio at least 4-5 time a week, it should become a pass time, I'm just so lazy most of the time lol

With regard to your weight bouncing up and down often. This is normal so you must not get disheartened when that happens. Even if you do weigh yourself daily, try only to pay attention to what happens over the course of a week. Water content in the blood stream makes a big difference to our weight. It's why we weigh less after exercise and also in the morning. We have lost a lot of water. But that is no reason to stop drinking water. I am just saying its why our weight can bounce up and down so much so quickly. Also i have noticed that when i am menstruating my body retains more water so my weight is higher.

As you are such a young person, consider taking up a sport. Go for something competitive like triathlon or marathon running and join a club. Ok it might be a while before you can run a marathon but that would be the case if you were skinny too. But when you have a social or competitive focus like that its so much easier to stay motivated. I really loved doing the triathlon but i injured my knee and had to quit. Yes it was a bit embarassing starting out with a fit group when i was unfit and a bit flabby. Now i have taken up touring cycling and although i only do it once a year. I don't even ride my bike often, when i go on a two month tour i lose a lot of weight and its easy. My challenge is to keep it off. I usually put it back on but this next time i hope to keep it off because i am trying to adopt new eating habits.

weighT is a noun - your weight, my weight, his weight, the weight, a weight etc I have lost weight, I've put on weight.
weigh is the verb - I weigh x pounds, please weigh that box for me, how much do you weigh? What does it weigh?

En francais, il est "poids" n'est pas? Est ce que c'est "mon poids"? How much do you weigh? Combien vous poids? C'est ca? ou non? Merci.

Si vous avez l'heure, pouvez vous dites moi comment utilise ce mot en francais? Merci beaucoup.

well I am indian but I was born in Quebec. I know the weight can change like crazy, its the same for me during my periods. I still try to drink alot of water. Sometime I dont drink much, I drink fruits juices instead but I'Ve gave that up. I should drink at least 8 glass of water.

ohh and I'm no good in sport, I dont like it very much.. just like in high school lol But I will be walking with my mom this summer in the evening, she is trying to lose weight too. I remember I did the same a while ago, we walked for 2h at night 3-4 time a week it was great I"ve lost 15pounds. I gained all the weight back by eating junk foods and not being active at all.

Ah bon, vous n'aimez pas le sports. D'accord. Tant pis. Mais faire le promenade est excellente aussi.

Je sais le truc de junk food. C'est pourquoi j'ai faire interdit le sucre! Il est mon regle nombre un! Pas de sucre! :smile:

Well I guess it time to exercise :D today and tomorrow, satuday and sunday
Food intake is ok I guesse (except for the weekend D:) but from now on, I'll only have sunday as a "cheat day" plus I need to drink more water. Guess I'll weigh myself next monday or so. cheer ^^

Non, je le trouve facile. Mais de temps en temp, je tombe/trompe. Puis, c'est dur.
 
2day I ate the usual for breakfast and lunch, for supper I hate a big bowl of salad with chickens and 1 spoon of salad dressing.

So this evening I did 50min of step aerobic, it was really fun plus i've found some great disco music for it this morning plus I drank 96oz of water trough the day.

But i'Ve been wondering, I calculated my heart rate after the workout and got 126/min, is it enough for weight loss? is it low or medium intensity? My rest heart rate is 78/min.
 
If your heart rate is up from resting, its good for fitness and also weightloss. Generally a lower intensity of longer duration is better for weightloss while high intensity is better for fitness than low intensity but of course its impossible to keep high intensity (eg from sprinting) up for a long time. You don't need to be puffing to increase fitness. I think any sort of aerobic will be good for both fitness and weight loss. Aerobics is definitely not low intensity. Walking is low intensity, walking fast would be moderate intensity, cycling on the flat would be low intensity. If you are puffing a lot it would be high intensity. I'd say its probably medium to high what you are doing.
 
I'm back, and 5 pounds lighter! I'm surprised I didn't gain any *with all the crap I've been eating >.<* plus I didn't exercise for 4 days but did a lot of housework. plus I'm regularly drinking water 1 to 1.5 L a day it should be more (2-3L) but at least I'm keeping up with it.

So now I weight 195 lb =)
 
Welcome back. :hurray: Glad to hear that things didn't go too far out of whack. Housework is good exercise. If you were doing it more hours than you do the gym, it might even have benefitted you more. Hope you are back to your healthy eating too.
