Maintenance. How hard it it, really?

I'm getting closer to my goal everyday, and the closer I get, the more I fear messing it up and gaining it all back.

I've done a little research online about how to keep the weight off, but everything points to an hour of cardio a day... everyday.

Right now, I do about 3 1/2 hours every week. 30 minutes each day, everyday.

Sometimes I'll go for an hour, but it's really hard to get myself to do it, and if I do decide to do it, it's 20-25 minutes into my workout.

I don't want to gain my weight back when I reach my goal, but I don't want to exercise for seven hours each week. I just couldn't see myself exercising that much.

Is all that exercise really required, or could I maintain my weight with the exercise that I do already?

Hi,

Im in exactly the same boat as you..lb for lb in fact!!

The way I look at it, maintaing should be considerbly easier than losing. Im going to continue to do the exercise im currently doing, and increase my calories until I find a good balance.

Im not sure if this is the 'ideal' way to do it, but if there is no defecit or excess of calories then surely maintenance will be acheived (easier said than done im sure)Hopefully someone with more knowledge of maintenance will also answer this!! :)

I wouldnt worry about it, you've done all the hard work, just another phase in the journey that Im sure you will also succeed in.

I really hope you're right about the whole maintaining being easier than losing thing. :)

I love to exercise, but seven hours a week?

I'd get really tired of it really fast.

Congratulations about your weight loss thus far! Hopefully we can both keep it under control once we get to our goals. :)

Oh, and this has nothing to do with weight loss, but I've been to one of your threads, and, well, you have big ear holes like me! :D

I don't really know anyone else who has stretched lobes, so when I meet someone in person, or even on the internet, I get excited. He he. ^__^~

I hope its easier aswell..although it may be wishful thinking!!

Congrats to you too!!! :cheers2:

Im sure we'll be fine, I havent worked this hard to put all my weight back on, im sure you feel the same!!!

When I first read what you said I thought you were just saying I had big ears!! :(

Hehe..Yeah there alot smaller than they used to be, I had them stretched to 22mm, but got them at 14mm at the mo. I cant see yours on your pic so id dint know :willy_nilly:

Nearly everyone I know has stretched ears, so its not something I really think about, but im pretty sure Im the only one in my works buiding (about 500 people) that has them!

Do you ever get people stopping you and asking about them? Happens to me alot (I used to live out in the countryside...alot of people had never seen anything like it!!)

Yeah, I definitely don't want to put the weight back on. D:

I know a few people with them, but they just have them to be trendy, if you know what I mean.

Nothing bigger than an 6g. P:

My bottom holes are at 5/8" right now. I don't plan on stretching them, and I just had my second holes pierced at a 4g not long ago. :)

I'll probably stretch those to a 2 just to fit these really pretty Anatometal eyelets that I have. o:

I have actually had people stop me. I live in a pretty conservative little town.

No one really knows what they are. I've actually had someone think it was some sort of birth defect.

She was an older woman. Ha ha.

Too funny!!!

I quite like explaining them to people, the only problem I've got is when people wanna poke there finger through them or some rank shit like that

I was at a bar one night and some guy who was wasted kept asking if he could blow through it? How f-up'd is that? And no it wasnt a gay bar and I misunderstood him if anyone was thinking that ;)

for me its easier cause i am in better shape and because its habbit, but i do exercise as much as i did to lose it. honestly i am still pushing myself to tighten up even more and build more musle, so i actually exercise more.

As long as you keep changing your routine and challenging your body you should maintain your weight. Just keep eating healthy.
