Maintaining your goal weight

I've reached my goal weight and no longer want to lose any more. What I've been doing to maintain my current weight is eating right (between 1500 and 1700 calories a day) and exercising (45 minutes on the treadmill at 4.7 miles an hour) Monday - Friday. But I eat what I want and don't usually work out on the weekends. So far this has been an effective way to keep my weight steady, as it seems that any damage I might do during the weekend, I undo during the week. Has anyone else had success with this method ? I hope so because knowing I can eat the so called "bad stuff" on the weekends makes it easier to stay motivated during the week. Thanks.

National Weight Control Registry study (sample size = 1429) says consistency is predictive of keeping weight off, with people who ate similarly throughout the week and/or throughout the year 1.5 times more likely to keep their weight within a 5-pound range over the course of a year.

FWIW, I'm a do everything the same every day person, and I'd be miserable at 1600 calories and 45 minutes of exercise every weekday. (And you can't be that much smaller than me - I'm 5'4 and ~125ish.) If you ease off a bit during the week, you might not feel the need to go wild on the weekends.

I have to agree.... that is a bit low with that 45 minutes of activity.

this is the topic I took an interest in and why I am here.

yikes - I am currently at my goal weight of 180-185, with BF% of around 12 or so.

my daily intake is in the range of 4500 - 5000 cals but I am training and doing an Ironman in 22 days. After that I don;t know what I am going to do.

I am affraid!

ok I will be :bigear: now! hahahaha I love the smiley selction!
