Machines!

So, i lift 3 days a week doing total body workouts, but for two of those work out days i do free weights only and for the other day i do machines only. Is that a problem? Or is that variation and change good for my body?

You are far better of doing 3 days of free weights. Doing BIG compound lifts. Stay of the machines, they are nowhere neeaaaar as good as weights.

I absolutely agree with friendly giant. I try my best to stay away from selectorized weight machines. These machines lock your plane of motion, meaning you are unable to adjust for variances within your own body that you could otherwise adjust for with free weights.

One exception is the cable crossover, although this is considered selectorized, it is an essential tool for effective weight training.
