Okay...I registered today and decided to start my diary today
I'm still learning my way around the site...but once I've got it mastered I'll post pictures in my diary...for some reason pictures help me. I not only keep before and during (not after, there will never be any "after" pictures as this is a life long goal) pictures of myself but I cut out pictures of healthy looking models and tape them to my fridge...it helps late at night when I realllllly want that last mini ice-cream sandwich
My husband is a Infantry Soldier in the US Army, currently deployed to Iraq. During a “normal” day for him he gets up at 4am and does PT, then there are the “training” days where he does physical activities all day and night. Needless to say he is well fit and healthy…I want to keep up with him
I decided I would be in shape and healthy by the time he returns from war…I took a break (okay more of a crying, pity party, overeating, excuse making, six month break) when he first left…I promised myself on the half way mark that I would work on balancing my life like I had promised myself I would in the beginning.
I am not looking so much to loose weight...well who am I kidding, I want to loose weight...but more than that I want to maintain a healthy balanced lifestyle…I want to look and feel young way into my golden years
So...my diary journey begins:
I guess I should start by saying...
* I am 23 years old.
* 5 feet 7 inches.
* I am not a smoker and drug free.
* I started this year out at around 150lbs. (size 8/10)
* I now weigh 135lbs. (size 6)
* I want to weigh 120lbs. (size 4)
-- How much weight do you want to lose?
15 lbs.
-- What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight?
I would like to reach my goal by mid summer…by the time my husband returns from Iraq.
-- How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)?
I have cut out all sodas. I only drink water, fat free milk, V8 juice and Soymilk. (I have the occasional glass of wine but lately I’ve been thinking about cutting that out completely)
I cut back on all refined sugar.
I eat smaller portions slowly and I keep healthy snacks on hand (almonds, raisins, rice cakes, kashi bars...)
I joined the Y and I work out daily...
With that being said I do allow myself a cheat day
I have found that I don’t over eat on my cheat days...b/c my body no longer craves junk food...so on my cheat day I tend to work out less and maybe slip in the last mini ice-cream sandwich
My workouts are balanced…between cardio and weight training. I also recently started taking a Pilates class.
I get 8 hrs of sleep at night (or at least I try reallllly hard to).
I signed up for the Charleston Bridge run and I’m looking in to signing up for a few more runs this year
--Who or what can support you in reaching your goal?
I have a work out buddy…a girl at work goes to the gym with me, that helps.
I’m hoping this forum will be another support system.
-- How realistic is your goal?
I think my goal is very realistic…everyone deserves to be healthy and happy. That’s all I’m aiming for
--When will you start?
I started January 1st of this year
I'm looking forward to keeping this diary...I'm very honest and can handle any constructive criticism and positive suggestions so feel free to fire away
