Annnnnd...I'm back... again

Not sure if anyone remembers me.

Here was my old diary: http://weight-loss.fitness.com/t/41682/lozzas-journey-to-get-fit

But its time to start afresh! :D

SO

I'm an Aussie, so I measure in KG first off. It also means we are coming in Summer in 2 months :D

I'm 24, 5'6, and currently weight 76kg.

My journey in the past- started at 97kg in April 2008, got down to 66kg in April this year, got married, went to Greece for the honeymoon ate LOTS of good food. Came back, and weighed 73kg, and I've put on another 3kg since May.

At the moment, I'm getting quite depressed. I still exercise, watch my eating- but not closely enough, and all my weight seems to do is go up and down. Example-

Last Friday, I weighed 77kg,

This week- Monday- 76.5kg

Yesterday- 75.5kg

Today- 76kg

Why?!

So its currently X weeks til christmas (12 weeks), and I hope I can get back under 70kg by then. It would be awesome to get back to my 66kg, but that might be too far out of reach by this stage.

My ideal would be to get to 60-62kg.

At the moment, since going to the gym to find my weight had gone up, all I can think about it going to get a cookie! But that won't help.

Today- I've been to the gym, and I've got Kung Fu tonight.

Look forward to reading diaries!

AI just wanted to point out about your weight bouncing. It takes a week to burn a pound of fat, that's why people usually either exercise and burn 500 calories a day, or change their diet so they eat 500 less. 3500 calories make up a pound of fat.

Now, I weigh myself every day too, but you shouldn't take the numbers too close to heart. Depending on what you ate, drank, what time of day it is, whether you just did some exercise, the scale can say different things. My best advice to you is to NOT worry about the scale. Just make the changes, get more active, and the weight will go down :).

When I weigh myself, I do it in the morning, naked, and go with that. I only pay attention to what it says on my weigh day (which is every Saturday). My weight goes up and down a pound or two sometimes. It's natural. So long as you stick to your plan, you'll hit your goal. Hard work pays off.

Loch is right. Your weight WILL fluctuate, and it will take an average of one week to lose a pound. Give yourself a weigh day, once a week, to see if you're losing anything. If after three weigh days nothing is happening, then you know there's something wrong with your workout or your diet.

Yeah, I know it will fluctuate, it just annoys me :( Much as I try to put it behind me, it always bugs me. So I'll allocate Monday as my weigh in days, and see if I can ignore/not weigh in on other days.

I've been pretty lazy for these last two weeks, I mean I've exercised enough, but it still doesn't feel like my heart is in it. I'll get to the gym today and stuff myself full of vegies and maybe the feeling will go away :p

Back to work next week (i've been on school hols). Least I'll get back into a proper routine.

Ok, todays plan!
Exercise- Weights, Yoga

Food!:
Breakfast- Berry protein shake. (Berries, milk, protein, yogurt, natural bran)
Snack- Coffee and a piece of chocolate (will be at the hairdressers! Not sure what I'm going to get done with my hair yet)
Lunch- Chicken Salad
Snack- Apple
Dinner- Can of tuna

Today is my first day back for Term 4, which means late night teaching.

Theres so much going on in life at the moment! I'm looking for a third job for next year and will be reducing the hours of one of my jobs for next year to allow time- this is because it was making me teach keyboard and piano, when I'm a professional sax/flute player. So I'll still be teaching a little bit of piano, but hope to get more work on sax and flute instead.

We're looking at buying a house! The house we are looking at is only 2mins away from where we are renting. It is a fire damaged shell, so we will be renovating and renting at the same time if we get the place. The advantage of the place is that is significantly cheaper than anything in this area that I like living in! The place is a 2 min walk from my gym, 3mins from the shops, and 4mins from yummy indian and chinese t/a (maybe thats not a good thing...)

So yeah, I'm a bit all over the place atm!

Hey there!!! Welcome back to the forum!!

Argh I was down to 66kg last year too, so annoying how easy it is to gain weight!!!!!!!! Oh well, you're back now, you can do this!

I think we're about the same height, I'm just under 5"7 (169cms) I was 73kg when I started again a couple of months ago. Getting there slowly!

Hey! Yeah, I'm 166cm, so pretty close :) Looks like we have pretty similar goals too! I want to at least get down to 62kg...maybe even 57kg cause that would mean a 40kg loss over all, but it might be too skinny.

Not sure what my weight is today. I'm going a little crazy over it today- So I've been on a gym 6 week challenge that ended last week and I've got the final weigh in tomorrow. I started the challenge at 75.5kg, and on Sunday my weight was 77.8kg! My trainer (and me!) weren't very happy.
Yesterday I was at 77.1kg. So getting better. Today I think that I've had a huge wooosh effect (technical term) but I'm not meant to go into the gym to check!! My program is one day weights, one day running, and I did weights yesterday, so I need to let my body recover
So now I'm hoping I don't screw up today, especially with eating at my parents tonight, so I'll have to say no to dessert.
I just wanna know if I did get a wooosh effect or not!

Food plan for the day!
Breaky- Berry shake
Snack- Vegie chips (take vegies, cut, bake in oven. Yum!)
Lunch- Chicken salad
Snack- Apple
Dinner- Parents place.

Exercise- will get out for a run today!
I wonder if I can just go to the gym to weigh in...

Wednesday-

My weight went down! It was at 75 today So I only lost .5kg over the 6 week challenge- but I didn't gain weight

So I hope to get to 72.5kg by around the beginning of November, hopefully in the first week. This will be my goal.
I was very motivated on Wednesday, got down to 75kg, weather is warming up, got a new exercise program. I'm normally fine at the start of the week til around Wednesday, then my diet goes to hell and I end back in the same place. I'm hoping this week I can cling to my motivation to break this cycle.

Thursday and Friday rushed pass, and I was mostly good.

Today (Sunday)

So I joined in a race today Its part of a series of runs- one in September, one in October, and one in November.

The September one I did as an 8.4km run, but today I went for the 12.7km run It looks like I've kept mostly the same pace per km, but I've gone for 4.3km longer, which I think is good progress.

As for food...well, I have been ok on Friday/Saturday, but I did have some mud cake on Saturday night- should have had a smaller piece, but it still gave me energy for the run today So I'm not beating myself up over it.

Todays food has so far been-
Breakfast-
7:15am Small bowl of cereal with a banana.
9:20am: Run for 12.7km
11am: Coffee
11am: Muesli bar
12:30pm: Small bit of chocolate
2:20 junket and large glass of water.

I'm just not feeling hungry?! I'm not sure why! Done lots of running, burnt 900cals, but I don't feel like lunch...

You're lucky it's only starting to warm up there- I'm in the far north west of Aus, and it's been 40 degrees 3 times in the last week. BLEAUGH. Can't even swim because I'm injured at the moment!

Yay for getting down to 75kg!! Good luck getting to your November goal!!

Aww man, I'm so bad at keeping track of everything! I'm part of another weight loss board (which is easier to navigate) and just joined fitocracy (which is very addictive!)

So my week!

Monday- Gym workout

Tuesday- Gym workout and 5.6km run

Wednesday- Gym workout and kung fu

Thursday- No exercise

Today- ?

Eating has been good, but scales aren't reflecting this. They have gone up since hitting the 75 :(

Haha is all good, just making sure you're still going!

Exercise is looking good, are you tracking your food too? Maybe you're eating more/less than you think you are?

I know what you mean about navigating this site, I want the old format back!

I'm not calorie tracking at the moment :(

At the moment, my food is trying to stick to:

Breakfast- small cereal

Snack- Fruit or can of tuna or protein shake

I have a main meal once a day, either lunch or dinner, and then the other meal is a salad or a light meal.

And a snack in the afternoon.

I should probably calorie track though :) Just get sick of it..

AI hear ya, I get sick of tracking it too. I just want to eat, and eat :(. But if I don't keep track, I end up going WAY above what I should be eating. There are so many edible things out there that look harmless, but man oh man, they aren't.

Just keep doing what you need to. If just eating better, and not keeping track helps, then do that. Obviously anything fruit/veggie is better than something deep fried lol.

Good luck :).
