I am assuming you have a few noodle rolls in your lower back? You just need to do burn more calories...cardio or reduce your calorie consumption. What are you gonna do? More hyperextensions?? More good mornings?? The lower back is covered in fascia...not even metabolically active.
Well, not exactly. I'm actually trying to strength train it. I really have no 'noodle rolls' (lol) in that particular area. How can you tell if your improving your lower back. What does is a toned lower back supposed to look like?
If you are trying to strengthen your lower backthen you need to work it as part of a full body routine. By that I mean you need to work your other muscles as well. Not necessarily all on the same day. Focus on general core work as well.
I like the stability ball. But depending on your level of fitness and the exercise... it may or may not be better than a machine. I know that's vague, but it all depends
Hyperextensions are good. Just as easy is the superman's on the floor or on the bosu. There are also several yoga moves that are good for the lower back, including the bridge.
I dont think bridges are really effective in strengthening the lower back
ive been doing 2 x 1min of bridges for more than month now and i still feel achy when i do a lot of bending work( maybe its just with me)
i guess it works the upper back and shoulders better
i find the hyper extensions much better when it comes to low back strength
