Lower abdomen exercises

im 17, i stand 6' 6" and im in the region of 70kg (154lb). im pretty thin and happy with my body except for my abdomen which sticks out like balloon. I exercise daily (weights, push-ups, jogging and sit up's) their all good exersizes but none of them help with abdomen.

does anyone know any that will??

ab work

I made a big post about ab workouts if u want to look for it. I am 17, 5'7 and i had a pot belly for s very long time and i am finally getting it under control. i have 2 work out videos i could send you if you are interested.

When I was in my teens until about 20, I had a similar thing going on, I looked ok, pretty fit and active, but I always had a little gut. All the running and sit ups in the world wouldn't fix it.

Turns out, most of that has to do with my genetics and body type, but there are a couple of things I could do
- first develop my uper body more especially my chest, so that my gut was less noticable
- second lower my overall BF% to single digits - that one I'm still working on.

Good luck.

my suspicion is that your abdominals are very weak. do you do sit ups with something or someone holding your feet while u do them? if u continue to do them this way and your abs are weak, you may actually be doing more harm than good. you MUSTleave the feet unfixed otherwise the abdominals do not initiate the trunk curl themselves but the hip flexors do, causing an anterior tilting of the pelvis and a stretching and weakening of the abdominals if they are already weak.

if readers dont believe this, try lifting your trunk off the floor (to about 60 degrees), keeping the back curved and neck tucked throughout and without the feet fixed. now try doing the same exercise with the feet fixed - much easier huh? that is because the hip flexors (groin muscles) are making a measurable contribution to the effort instead of isolating the abdominals exclusively. the first thing that ocurrs in a trunk curl/situp is a reversal of the lumbar/lower spine by a POSTEROR or backward tilting of the pelvis. a "hole" should never, ever develop in you or your client's low back when performing these exercises. i will be posting guidelines for abdominal exercises soon on my new website at . check it out and stay tuned for serious no-nonsense advice and awesome products.

Workout Video (abdomens)

May I have the 2 work out videos please, I would really appreciate it.
I've got the same problem as you and I know where your coming from!!
My email address is thgang@gmail.com.

Thanks,
Andy

May I suggest Pilates; it focuses on your core and strengthens your abs without numerous situps and it focuses on the lower abs quite effectively. :) However, if you are female, it is normal to have a bit of a pouch. If you want completely flat abs and don't have the genetics for it, you would have to remove your ovaries like some models do! And that is just going to far for appearances.
