I just desided I have had enough of being fat and not enjoying the stuff that I like doing because its to hard. I have not got on a scale in 3 or 4 months but last time I was 300lbs I think I'm 315 or so now. I worrest thing about starting right now, a week before christmas is that I do all the cooking and make the candy for the rest of the family. If I can make it through the end of the month with out eating the candy and stacks I think I will have a chance of lossing the weight that I want to. I'm going to try to make my meals in advance why the kids are at school so all I have to do if heat my meals up after I get theres cooked.

I just hope this time I have the will power to get this weight off, I'm so tired of being fat and out of shape and not having the energy to do the stuff with the kids that we used to do.

I'm going to dig the bowflex out of the closet where it has been hiding for a couple of years, and start doing some lite work outs on it and start going out for walks when the weather will allow. The first day I think is allways the hardest. Last time I lost alot of weight I went form 250or 275 down to 180lbs that was 15yrs ago. The weight just seems to creep up a little each year.

Well I think thats All I'm going to talk about today, and again I'm glad I found the site and hope that I can loss the weight like some of you on here.

Day 2 is going good. Went on a brisk 1.5mile walk last night. Doing 30min of cardio tonight. The biggest problem is my menu planning, I can't get my calories up where they should be. Todays with tonights mael I only have 1001 calories which is about 500-800 short of a heathy weight loss plan.

Breakfast: 2 peaces low fat turkey bacon, 1/2cup egg beaters, pinch of cheese.

Snack: 1 apple

Lunch: can of light tuna with mustard and leaf of lettuce wraped in low card wrap. 1 sev. quakes rice snaks

snack; 1 orange

Dinner: 8oz chicken breats, 1 backed potatoe w/2tbls lite ranch dressing, 2 cups sliced cook carrots.

That seems like a good meal plan and I'm not hungery but like I said its only 1000cals.

I'm a stay at home dad so I don't do alot of stuff in a day. Alittle house cleaning some landury and playing the my 2yro girl. Just started to do the walking and going to start on light weight lifting on the bowflex. I got on fitday.com and setup a program and it says I burn around 3800cals a day and like I said 1000cal. intake.

I'm used to eating high fat high calorie foods and large meals, so it's hard for me to change up to low fat, small serving sizes. Should I eat bigger portions of my meals or add some more fruits and veggies with them?
 
Day 3 any have snuck any extras. Didn't get to go for my 1.5mile walk last night, the wifes car broke down and I had to go fix it and it was to dark and cold to go. Going to go get a treadmill after christmas so I can do my walking inside.

My oldest boy who well be 13 in a couple of weeks wants to start lossing weight too, he is 5' 5" 180lbs he has some fat but he also has alot of muscle for his age. I'm just going to get him to start eating small portions and start working out with me. Just not sure how many cal. I need him to eat.

Still trying to make out a meal plan for the week and to get my cals. up to 1500-1800.
 
Down 4 pounds today. Went christmas shopping all day and I mean all day. So I'm not going for my walk tonight. I think the thing that is going to help me the most is that I have not had any pop in 4 days, only water. That and I figued my calories I was eating before and I was over 3000 for the day and now i'm 1200-1500. Todays calories were higher because I ate out at wendys and had a small chili and a baked potato W/low fat sour cream, and only ate 3/4 of my chili before I was full.

Extreamly streesed lastnight and today. I have noticed in my eating, went for the christmas candy today because of it. I need to break that habit when I get really stressed out.

Cut firewood for 30mins , havn't walk in a couple days.
 
Had a step back yesterday, I need to get this candy& pumkin pie out of the house. The one good thing is that I got sick to my stomach last night. So now I know not to eat it or I'm up all night sick.
 
As yuo can see I havnt been on in a long time. But in the last 8 months I have went from 320# down to 275# but I have stalled out there. I havnt really dieted but the job a had was lifting tires all day so that help. I'm not there anymore so I need to get back to watching what I eat and workingout. My wife desided she wanted to join the National Guard and has to loss 40# so she wants to start working out and running so she can get fit before going in. I'm all for her to join so I want her to loss the weight. before I was always trying to loss the weight myself and had to make my meals seprates, but know she wants to have both use and the 3 kids to strat eating heathy. So I plain on being on here alot for support and ideas.
 
Went and bought some veggies and fruit, forgot how much more it cost to eat right. Got my wife to get some foods she never tryed before, hope she likes them.

Its nice to be able to do this with a family member, now we need to get our boys eating better. Our oldest boy is 14 and is 235# 5'7" he is a big boy anyways, he has a size 11 foot and has always been big ever sence he was born. Our youngest boy is just opposit of his brother. He is 12 and smaller frame and short, his problem is he dosnt like eating anything but fish sticks, corndogs and ceral. He has a little belly on him.
 
my son is only a year and a half but I totally empathise with you because sometimes feeding him a variety of things is a little difficult. He LOVES cheerios and cheese and apples, but I keep searching for different things that he will like. I have a cousin who was just like your younger son when he was growing up...all he ate was cereal, pop tarts, and hamburgers LOL He is very tall and got really heavy when he got older, but he started working out and found a job that is physically intensive. He is still tall and big but now its muscles instead of fat. All the best with helping your boys to eat better :) I really think its great that you are helping them this way!
 
It's good that you want to set a good example to your boys, I am lucky that my boys (15, 13 and 12) all enjoy non processed food especially vegetables and salads. Introducing new foods to your boys diets probably should be gradual or you may have a rebellion on your hands.
 
Went for a 4 mile bike ride yesterday and today + a mile walk after the ride today. Butt was getting sore from rideing, might have to find a diffrent seat that has a little more padding on the front.

Bought a magic bullet mixer so I can make some fruit smoothies, works great.
 
A little stiff today after the bike ride and the walk. Its not my legs its my shoulders for some reason. Got to help my wife get off the Mountain Dew, she was over almost 500cals yesterday because of the pop. She has cut back but is still drinking 4 a day at 170cals a can of empty cals. She is trying the food I make, last night we had grilled chicken tenders on the grill, spanish rice, grill zucchini she didnt like it, I thought it was alllright but need to have some olive oil on it for a little more flavore. She can't have evoo because it breaks her out.
 
Did the Golds Gym band exrcise for 30min and man does it burn, my abs are sore. I used the blue band for everything.
 
Relaxing today no exrciseing, alittle sore from this weeks work outs. From the scales I lost 6#'s this week. I was figureing 3 to4 for the week but 6 is great, I know that is high but I have watched every thing that I have ate and have workedout without cheating.

Eventhough I'm sore I feel great this week.
 
Yesterday was not good day. Didnt feel good most the day, didnt exrcise at all and we went out to Applebe's for supper. I was under my daily calorie but still shouldnt have went out to eat.

Today feel better and going to go for a walk today and do some cario too.
 
well tuesday I was planning on working out but the fever came up to over 100 and ears started hurting more, so I have been in bed sence then. Today I do feel way better. But being in bed sence then my body is hurting from leying in bed for 3 days. Going to start slow to get my muscles warmed up and stretched out.
 
Been hard this week getting back into the swing of stuff after being sick all last week, Gain a couplke pounds back but I think alot of that is water weight.
