Losing weight to get healthy

Hey everyone!

I just thought that I could start a club where everyone gives advice on little things that could change your habit in a few days. Also we could give suggestions of different challenges like losing a certain weight before school starts or before Fall begins and we could give support to everyone that needs it. Tell me what you think!

Eating at restuarants

Eat Before Have a high-fiber snack before you go out, Like an apple or even a bowl of cereal. And don't skip meals just to "save-up" for a night out. The hungrier you are when you're out, the more you will eat.:D

I wish the best to anyone on a diet right now. I know it's really difficult I have been there before. Good luck and keep going. Drink your water!!

You can't change what you don't acknowledge

I've got one...

Get real about the amount of calories you are consuming. I never looked at the nutrition panels on foods, or added up how many half hour walks it would take to walk off 6 Oreo cookies and a glass of milk. I never looked to see what kind of snack I could have for the same or fewer calories than two Fig Newtons. I was so blind, and I am just starting to take a good hard look at how much I have been eating. So, that's my advice. GET REAL!

I hate to think that a Dr. Philism is my new motto, but it is. :D
 
Fast Food Eating

Stick to the basics and toss the sauce Say no to mayo, tartar sauce, and creamy dressings. Watch the nuts, croutons, and other salad add-ons. If you're getting a salad, go for low-calorie dressing, and don't drown the veggies. Give your sandwich a healthy, juciy taste by adding tomatoes instead of sauce. Look for grilled or broiled, not breaded or deep fried. Order a salad or a broth-based soup as an appetizer.

water help

This is my 20 calorie water trick, for people who have a hard time drinking enough plain water in the day...

Try eating on Starburst fruit chew, in nibbles, while drinking a large glass of water. A single Starburst candy is only 20 calories, takes a long time to eat if nibbled, and will satisfy a sweet craving. The sweet taste makes drinking your water that much easier, and you have another glass done in no time!
 
"Getting real" has been enormously important to me, not just in counting calories but also in recalling what I have actually eaten and drank. Also, I have had to get real about the fact that I am the one who created the problem and I am the one who is fixing it. I am all for getting real!
 
Eating big meals

If you know that you are going to eat a big meal or if you are going to a party drink water before and during your meal. The water will fill you up and you will eat less than you usually would.:)
