Losing weight in 10 minute workouts

Hi, I am 5'5, and around 125-130, athough this is only an estimate of what I think I weigh. My normal weight my whole life has been between 110-116. I workout my abs on a daily basis, (about 50 sit-ups), but wasn't doing any cardio for the last four months, and I was overeating for a bit. I'd gained some excess weight in my thighs and stomach, so I decided to start doing cardio again.
I've only been doing a really fast walk for ten minutes at a time on the treadmill, and I've only worked out three times in three days, starting this past week, but I am already noticing a significant change in the weight around my stomach and hips. This happens everytime I decide I want to lose weight, it always is a rapid change.
I know I am supposed to be doing 25 to 30 minutes to get results, so I'm wondering why this is working for me??

I've always seemed to be able to lose weight more rapidly than most people in less of a time....could it possibly be my metabolism?? I'm just wondering because I've read that ten minutes isn't nearly enough time.

Someone here will give you a more scientific answer, but you know if you exert energy, you'll burn calories.

If you want to get there, you will !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't give a scientific answer myself, but I've always been the same. I think even short workouts can make a difference, but for maximum health benefits (vascular etc) it's recommended to get more aerobic exercise than 10 minutes. All depends what your goal is, of course.

Enjoy it while it lasts, they say it gets more difficult to get rid of extra pounds with age!

Thanks, I appreciate the input!! I've read that you can't burn any fat in the first ten minutes, so it threw me off, but yes, at the same time I am doing more than I was, so it makes sense that it makes a difference.

I'm also glad to know someone else has the same results!

if you warm up for 5 - 10mins then do 10 HARD MINUTES doing full body exercise that could more than enough although your diet would have to "on" more to make up low exercise time and volume
