Losing Weight After Pregnancy

Help!!!!!
I was a fit 130lbs. before having my son 7 months ago, now I can't seem to lose the weight. I gained 80lbs. with him, and I am at 165 right now. 35lbs. seem like it's so much to lose, because I have never had a struggle with my weight. I was wondering if anyone has tried the cabbage soup diet, grapefruit diet, or cottage cheese diet? The way they talk about it, they really work, I just want results and within the next 5 months before my son's 1st b-day. HELP PLEASE :(

Hey
its going to be hard work and well balanced eating plan that will get u there, how tall are u and how old???
how much exercise are u currently doing?, what do u have access too???
those diets are fad diets and may work but it is likely that u will put the weight back on when u go off the diet as most of them cut out every day foods, try just to keep your fat, calorie and sugar levels down and change little things like white bread to brown bread, white rice to brown rice, also make your portions the right size
try its a good indication of the nutrients you need through the day !!! :)
good luck hope it works out for u

Hi there,
Losing weight after a baby can take a lot of time. Different women's bodies react differently. Some will lose the weight asap, but some can take a good year of working hard to get rid of it. Please be patient with your body.
I would not recommend any of those diets at all. Not a healthy approach to weight loss. Those are fad diets. Every person has completely different needs as far as nutrition goes. Picking a random diet and going with it could result in some weight loss, but it could also be very damaging, such as if it was too low in calories and your metabolism was ruined.
I recommend a personal trainer or a nutritionist to help you create the best diet for you to reach your goals. Remember, slow and steady weight loss stays off!

Congrats on the birth of your child :D

It may sound like a lot, but you have a few things going for you... you've never had a problem with your weight (sign of a good metabolism), you have 5 months, and you have an end goal- your son's birthday.

So find a workout routine that involves cardio, strength training and stretching. Then find a nutrition plan that works for you. Scrap those diets you mentioned above. They won't work. The weight you lose will be water and eventually your muscle. It will not be your fat.

You can do this. You have an awesome opportunity to eat well and workout often. This will set an amazing example for your son too! There are lots of sites with workout routines and meal plans. As Sarah mentioned, I would talk with someone who is qualified.

Best of luck to you.

Let's be support for one another

I too am begining the fun routine of trying to loose the baby weight... I have a 6 month old son and would like to lose about 15 - 20 pounds. I just started going to the gym and of course I have the terrible mentallity of wanting to see instaneous changes, but we all know that's not how it works. I just wanted to know if you maybe wanted to start some sort of a support system?
