Losing Visceral Fat

Sorry if this seems a bit out of left field, but I've been studying my own body composition and familial genetics lately, and am convinced that we are predisposed to storing visceral fat (the stuff that accumulates around your internal organs - the most unhealthy kind). I've done some reading on the subject, and logically, the most recommended way to target visceral fat is through regular exercise (particularly cardio) and a healthy diet (high in lean meats, veggies and whole-grains). I've also read that foods high in diglycerides (ie. rapeseed/canola oil) can lower visceral fat levels.
Do any of you have any tips about particular foods I can eat that will combat this nasty tendency that my body has? It's not only unsightly, but can put me at higher risk for serious health problems later in life...

Thanks!

VAT - Visceral Adipose tissue is a hard fat that binds to your organs however I never heard of any foods that will combate VAT as it's maily controlled by hormones.

It's usually due to having high Cortisol levels and any good Cortisol blocker/reducer will help rid the VAT.

Lean Extreme makes a solid product for this.

Thank you *so much*, LV. I just did some reading about elevated Cortisol levels, and in women it manifests itself with symptoms that I suffer from! It looks like these raised levels can be caused not only by stress, but Polycystic Ovary Syndrome or Cushing's Syndrome. I'm going to talk to my doctor about this, because the tell-tale symptoms of high cortisol are too coincidental for me to ignore. I had no idea they were inter-related...

LV - do you know what the difference is between 7-OH (which is the active ingredient in Lean Xtreme) and 7-Keto DHEA?

I've read that the latter is more affective for Cortisol level reduction...

I'd love to type it all out for you but it would probably take me a long time....:)

Here you go...

Thanks so muc, LV! So basically, I could just go with 7-OXO (Keto) supplements, and my body would convert it to 7-OH (alpha)... right? I guess I just want to be sure that taking Lean Xtreme wouldn't be too aggressive as opposed to just taking pure 7-Keto DHEA.

No problem.

Also here is another product that has gotten many good reviews by some people that have tried it.

I'm glad you brought this up Saphron! The genetics in my family are the same, we all store large amounts of visceral fat, which is awful. LV, thanks for the information!
