Losing that last little bit of fat?

Six months ago i was 235 then started working out, jogging, eating right, and went down to about 190-192. I am happy but i still have a little layer of fat on my stomach, do any of you know any good ways to get rid of it, it is a little frustrating since i am so close to having a flat Stomach. Thanks.

sorry to say but that is going to be the hardest thing to get rid of. In my experience, the less fat there is, the harder it is to get rid of it, and the more you watch it to measure progress. Just keep doing what your doing and eating right, and just ignore it for a couple of months. Next time you look you will be pleasantly surprised

Dr Smith, I am in the same boat as you. I started at 200 lbs and 20+% bodyfat. I'm down to 174 and 12% but it is all right there on my stomach. So hard to get rid of. No matter how hard I work the only thing that has helped me is to get a little strcter on my diet. I lowered my carbs and cut back on dairy and am slowly making a little progress. Hope this helps.
Hang in there, you have already made great strides!

I hear where you're coming from. At fourty I don't know if it is even possible to get rid of without starving yourself. My plan is to try and add muscle elsewhere then cut back a bit on the kcals and see if it goes.

The best thing that I can tell you to do, in my experience, is to jog on a regular basis (2-3 times) and make sure you're getting some good ab exercises. Crunches work really well for me. For lower abs (which are considered one of the hardest parts to lose) you can do some leg lifts. I like laying on a bench bed (used for bench pressing) with my legs hanging off, and my hands under my butt, gripping the edge of the bench and kick your legs, trying to keep them above your body. I still only shoot for 1 minute - 1:30.

doing ab exercises is not going to help you lose fat in your stomach. There is no such thing as spot reducing.

Yes, but ab size increases. Combined with cardio this causes the oh-so-loved 6 pack.

not to nit-pick but that wasnt his question. Just making sure it was understood and incorrect information isnt out there. Not a personal attack at all.

Nice to know i'm not the only one...

Thanks css925 and Greenetuckian its comforting to know i'm not the only with that problem. It is still fustrating that i am close and yet so far. I am not concered however, i will just stick to eating right and jogging. Recently i stopped jogging because it got so hot out:rolleyes: . I also try to do ab exercises three times a week. Thanks everyone for responding !!:
