Hello Everyone,

I am a fitness trainer and planning on writing an eBook on how to lose your baby belly after pregnancy. I am mainly interested in helping new moms target belly fat and regain their pre-pregnancy shape or even better...

Would anyone be prepared to share their tips on how they successfully lost their baby belly. What type of exercises worked for you? What food help you lose weight? Or any other weight loss tricks you may have used.

I will gladly share my expert knowledge back.

Thank you all very much!

Valerie

As a fitness trainer, you should know already that you can't target fat. The body adds fat on the human body in a geneticly mapped order and it comes off in the reverse order. That is why if you always seem to have bigger hips even when 'thinner' it is because your genetics put the weight there first.

You know how you lose it? You lose weight normally and it will come off anyways.

Also, welcome to the forum, I strongly suggest reading the forum rules located under the Newcomers thread.

Thanks for your input

You are right! Spot reduction doesn't exist. In other words, you won't lose fat in the thighs by doing thighs exercises. But, I also know that high intensity exercise rely mostly on visceral fat (belly fat) for energy source. This means that when you exercise a high intensity, you dig into your belly fat more than light exercise do. This research has been supported by Mike Jensen from the Mayo Clinic. In addition to losing fat, the belly can look smaller by tightening the abdominal muscles. This will make the stomach look flatter and firmer. The best abdominal muscles are derived from the plank since this particular position requires deep muscle tissue activation. Pregnant women often complain about the look of their mid-section after delivery. I am trying to collect real-life example of successful mothers.

You are right about the fat..I guess the problem I have is more about you coming here to collect stories from our members for your ebook. Why not get people from your fitness boot camp for those stories? If you want to give help and suggestions and support, wonderful. That's what we are about..but I've had to delete quite a few posts from people like you just coming here to get our members' stories for your profit.
