There’s no scientific evidence that apple cider vinegar can burn body fat.

One study found that when rats were fed a high-fat diet, including apple cider vinegar helped reduce fat gain, but rats aren’t tiny people and these effects have never been demonstrated in humans. It’s also worth noting that the rats were drinking the human equivalent of over two and a half cups of vinegar a day, which is about 20 times more than most people drink to lose weight faster.

  • It has been reported to cause or worsen low potassium levels. That’s particularly important for people taking medications that can lower potassium (such as common diuretics taken to treat high blood pressure).
  • Vinegar can alter insulin levels. People with diabetes should be particularly cautious about a high vinegar diet.

One popular myth is that ACV can be used for controlling blood pressure. In my research, one small study in rats that showed a decrease in systolic blood pressure in rats fed a diet containing acetic acid compared to those without it. There weren’t any studies using ACV for high blood pressure in people.

There are many people who lost weight with this method.

There is no actual proof of this, correlation is not causation, often those who try apple cider vinegar are also doing other things like improved diet and exercise (which are proven to work) in addition to taking whatever miracle cure they think is making them loose weight.

Diluted Apple Cider Vinegar with warm water can help to lose weight.

....
the key word here is "vinegar"... make no doubt about it, this stuff tastes much more like vinegar than anything to do with apples or cider. if you believe in the adage of no pain no gain (meaning loss in this case), then this is the stuff for you.

There will never be scientific evidence of the benefits of food items that you can get cheap in the market, so of course there is no "research" on it, but that doesn't mean that it isn't filled with benefits (usually people use the item and witness the benefits and report it in cases like this). The research that is done is on pharmaceuticals to sell pills at a high price and for profit to the pharmaceutical companies.

In my opinion, a lack of research proves nothing, as there isn't going to be any research monies put out if there isn't money to be made off of a product.

So therefore a lack of "proof" is not a reason to say it doesn't work.

I never said there were no benefits, ACV has had studies done, showing some beneficial health responses (eg significantly lowering post-meal blood glucose levels) but fat loss is not one. While I am not a big fan of pills and potions I also do not see drug researchers or manufacturers as the enemy.

Did you know that when you gain weight the number of fat cells in your body increases, but when you lose weight the number of fat cells in your body do not decrease? So, we can't really get rid of the amount of fat cells that we have. The fat cells can be larger or smaller, they can shrink but we can never get rid of them, we are stuck with them. This is something a lot of people don't know. We can't kill off fat cells. If they die, they're replaced. So, when we lose weight, all we are essentially doing is shrinking our fat cells. I think it's fascinating, and might be why it's so hard to lose weight once we have put it on, because those fat cells do not "burn off" like people think. They're still there, just a bit skinnier, and the thing is they don't want to be skinnier, they want to be fat. Darn those fat cells sending signals to my brain to eat. I'm sure they're all in there having a party wondering how much pressure they can force upon me until I give in and eat that dang doughnut.

This is why, those who have liposuction done to remove the fat cells and then regain more fat will have strange lumpy fat distribution as the body grows more cells combined with not having the ability to refill the cells which have been sucked out.

if apoptosis took care of a wrinkly old, unused fat cell, would your body really expend the energy to recreate a new one?

side note... finally found a use for ACV... added some to a soup bone broth i made the other day. apparently helps in leaching out more nutrients but regardless, it was hardly noticeable taste-wise, so no harm, no fowl... it was beef!

Apple cider was a part of my weight loss journey. I don't know if it really helps or not, but I feel light and refreshed after having it in the morning everyday with luke warm water. I feel it helped me a lot
