lose weight and tone up at the same time

Maybe this is already on the site somewhere, and I apologize if it is.

Isn't there some way to do both at the same time? I'm doing both strength training and cardio, but I seem to be losing weight faster than I'm seeing any muscle definition. I'm getting smaller, but seeing flabbiness with it. Will this just go away as I continue to do strength training or is there something I can do to avoid that step?

If you dont mind what kin dof exercises are you doing?
I would like your advice on how to lose weight in the gym? I am not seeing results and I have been going 4x a week for a month now.
 
You may want to try the Firm workouts; they are awesome they are low impact cardio and weight training. I have been a big fan of these workout and you definetely see results/definition and loss in inches and firmness when you use these DVDs.

from what i understand you can't generally lose fat and gain muscle at the same time. maybe for a while in the beginning but you can't continue to do it long term.
