Lose my but

Hi, I am new here, I have a problem with losing the fat off my glute area, the rest of my body is fairly toned with little fat, but no matter what, I cant seem to lose my big but. Is there any specific exercises or dietary supplements that will target this area?? Thanks.

Jim

The only way to get rid of fat in that area... is to reduce overall body fat. If you're unable to lose overall body fat (if you're already too skinny or something)... then there's not much you can do. It's probably genetics.

Exercises that target the glute are squats, lunges, ball roll ins, hiking, etc. But doing an exercise that targets the area will NOT make the fat there go away.

Why is that, Lynn?? For example, I do the Bridge excercise from your website as well as a couple of glute/hamstring excercises from a video I was doing a while back - they seemed to help me out! My hubby says my legs are toner and my butt definitely looks better. Is it due to something else? Not trying to cause trouble, just curious. :)

I'm know, I'm not Lynn. I'm sure she'll give me a piece of her mind. Anyway, Wendy, I think you may know this, but you can't spot reduce. You can eat well, exercise, but it doesn't mean the fat is gonna come off a certain part of your body. I wish it was that easy  Obviously you are doing some right things if you are getting positive results, great for you :) Keep up the good work

Ok, thanks for the explanation! :D And yes, I do know that you can't spot reduce. I am trying to reduce everything at this point. LOL

i have an article in my archives somewhere that talks manipulating certain hormones with food choices to spot reduce...i'll have a look for it and get back to u...continue with bridges but make sure bum is doing the work...i wood try some 1 leg squats with back elevated behind you with back knee going all the way down to the floor...the lower you get your bum during squats and lunges the more it has to work so partial lunges and squats won't do anything

found it!! it's still in point form but have a read and post at rich-fit.com wat u don't understand and i'll get back 2 u
